GREENWAVE84EG
Some interesting news: Gallatin has hired a new offensive coordinator. He is Mark Williams, who was in the same position at Smyrna. He was an assistant at Gallatin for 3 years back in the early 2000's, and will no doubt bring some excitement to the Green Wave. Looks like an excellent hire!

GWAVE1
SORT OF MAKES U WONDER IF THE TALENT IS GONE DOESN'T IT???? His brother is entrenched at Smyrna. I think he might be looking at the head coaching opportunity when Lassiter decides to step down.

innocent bystander
Yep your right no talent at smyrna LOL Think he might be looking for his own future? Honestly, this year is the last chance for Smyrna to compete in the forseeable future. They will always have some athletes, but they will struggle to make the playoffs after this year. This years Sr's are talented, but the classes after them aren't quite the level they've had. Several coaches have sought employment elsewhere. New playcallers on both sides of the ball, and lost at least 6 college signees. Congrats to Coach Williams. Should be interesting.

As they say lets worry about this year this year. Last year everyone was saying Matt had a bunch of coaches nobody wanted, what a difference a year makes. Good luck to Mark in his new job at Gallatin. Edited April 21, 2011 by my2cents

Ill believe it when I see it. Yes, Smyrna may be down a little, but I just have problems seeing them struggling to make the playoffs given how much talent goes through that program
Shag
Maybe he left for a better work enviroment. Smyrna's facilities are outdated and crappy.
Widetackle
What happened to the other guy that was the OC at Gallatin? I thought he had been with Lassiter for quite a while.
Squoshwave17
What happened to the other guy that was the OC at Gallatin? I thought he had been with Lassiter for quite a while. Porter was the OC prior to this year. Although, from what I've heard Lassiter has always called the plays. I'm assuming Williams came under the pretense that he would have more control over the offense than Porter did. At least I hope that's the case. Either way, this move had nothing to do with a lack of talent at Smyrna. It had everything to do with getting a promotion next year IMO. wingman10
Williams is a good coach. Robert is fortunate to have him.
