Third payback game of the year for the Rebels...

This was easily one of the most disappointing games from a year ago...OC has the ball and driving on the Cavaliers late with a 16-14 lead...LeDevin Fair takes a hand off and races 50 yards or more for an apparent game-clinching touchdown...But wait...Yellow hanky on the field..Holding, OC...Takes away the TD and the next play Phipps is sacked for a big loss...OC has to give up the ball and CC drives down the field and scores a TD and 2pt conversion late for the 22-16 win...

It looks like OC will have to not only defend the Cavalier run game but also be aware of the Cavalier passing attack...In looking at the stats from the CC-Haywood Co game, the Cavs had over 100 yards passing..Last season CC couldn't have completed a pass with the Rebels on the sidelines...In other words the CC passing attack was a non-threat...

OC was the benefactor of a few CC turnovers last season...Uncharacteristic of a P.A. Pratt-coached team...Now Kevin Ward roams the sidelines for the Cavs...Seems like CC has a hex on the Rebels but, so did Westview...

Well the hex is gone....OC is a solid football team and should win this one by 28. With CC learning Ward's system, they'll be hard to handle in the next couple of years---but after seeing the game the other night---OC is the real deal. Good luck the rest of the way in.

P.S. Be careful how you throw about the word "payback", I called some jersey numbers out from a prior loss about the team's dirty play and had a parent get on here and chastise me for identifying them. My philosophy---"play hard, play physical but play clean".

With the Rebels being 9th in last weeks poll, look for them to move up a spot or two this week. Also, the Jackson Sun doesn't even have them in their dirty dozen or even mentioned. They need to open their eyes. Polls are for fans though. Keep on rolling Rebels.

They're not mentioned in the Dirty Dozen because Obion County is not part of the Sun's "13 County Circulation" area, even though the paper is sold throughout the county. Case in point, 2 years ago when Chassidy Fussell won the Ms. Basketball award for the state, the Jackson Sun named the Butler girl from Gibson County "West Tennessee Girl's Basketball Player of the Year". She was the runner-up for the state. So the Jackson Sun claims to represent West Tennessee, but leaves out Obion and Lake Counties (thus Obion Central, Union City, South Fulton, and Lake County High Schools) out of the equation when it comes to awards and such.

And yet, like you said, the Jackson Sun is sold on newsstands across Obion and Lake Counties..

Does Obion County have a daily paper? If so, then the Jackson Sun probably isn't "circulated" although "available" in Troy...their poll only represents 14 counties in West TN..which doesn't include several of the area's best teams. Don't let the Jackson Sun offend you by not mentioning your team. Newspaper polls are for selling papers...not evaluating teams!
