Some of us JB folks coulnt believe WC bailed out on the run last year against us in the quarter finals.... Started passing and we got 3 pics..... Hint hint.... Running the FB wins championships.... Yall keep pounding us las year and you win ! So keep pounding it this year !!!! Passing is pretty and exciting but when was the last time you saw a team pass to a championship ? Being physical, aggressive, intense and playing with emotion are key elements

Yeah pretty sure that won't happen this year. our pass attempts prolly average 4X/game.

Although, I think Austin has done a pretty good job throwin when he is called on to do so....!!!

I think WC could drop back and pass at any point, there just hasn't been a need to do so. And when you can run the ball the way WC has been running it this year theres almost always a receiver open. Rice has a great arm and Mathis and Skelton to name a couple of receivers to boot, then you got Butler catching the ball out of the backfield, its a pretty good system if you ask me.

Yeah I agree. I'd actually like to see us mix it up just a nudge more (maybe 6-8 passes/game) cause Skelton/Mathis I think do a great job of catching and then making something happen after, and also it may come in handy down the road against a solid run defense. it'd be good to work on it early in the game against opponents that are a little weaker. you can't do it later in the game against those kind of teams cause it makes you look like you're running the score up. But all that aside the VEER is looking NICE!!! Very nice!!

WC will take them city boys behind the wood shed ! MERCY 35+

For a team that has a schedule ranking of 43rd, there sure is a lot of boasting on this board about how great Wayne County is this year. CA is better than Wayne County thinks. This will be a close game. CA is capable of winning...whether they do or not will soon be determined.

Who has CA played that has a winning record? CA may be good but nobody will know whether they are or not until tomorrow night because it will be the first of many test for them in the second half of the year.

Well 1st of all JBalumni81 is a Jo Byrns fan...but knows his stuff pretty well. secondly, the coach T strength of schedule ranking dont mean a dang thing. What we do know is this....CA has had seasons like this time and time again where they start off w/a bunch of cream puffs, go undefeated, and then get whipped the rest of the year. I know ya boys Brand and Bingham are nice players, but just don't think they have the supporting cast like WC does. If they prove me wrong I'll admit it. But if we dominate the line of scrimmage like I expect we will, it could get ugly. Plus dem Cats been off for a week and are HUNGRY!

Agreed! now is the time to work on it, if you wait til you need it it may be to late. Not saying need to go overboard but have the ability so use it.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
