UncleDave thinks some of you folks have the SP Pirates too high on a pedestal right now. They have the ingredients to have a really good team this year, but injuries have really plagued the team. They won't be at full force for several weeks and you know how missing games can hurt chemistry. The last 4 games of the season are as tough as I can remember SP having ever. 6A Franklin County, 2A Boyd Buchanan, 3A Polk County, and 2A Knox Grace. I know for a fact that 3 of the 4 will be tough games....not sure about FC, but they are 6A. I will be surprised if the Pirates make it thru those games without more injuries on top of what they have now. I will also be surprised if they do better than 2-2 during that stretch. This could be Gordonsville's year to represent the East.

We get catch cheating? And you call us idiots. Lol

I garuntee you that you are right. That Childress man caught that Harrison man at Perry County playing illegal players. I talked to Murphy and he said the next team that Childress man catches cheating will be in big trouble. Their season will be over right then. That Childress man will make all the boys clean out their locker. You think im joking but im not. I was also reading my TSAA rule book and it said that Perry County will have to forfeit those games to make them 2-3 not 2-0. You think im stupid but im not.

You might be right Uncle Dave. The difficult schedule the pirates will face in the last four games of the season could prove to be too much to overcome. South Pittsburg has been BLASTED by injuries this entire season. 1A teams hardly ever overcome one key injury, much less 6 or 7. I agree with you. Sometimes things don't seem to be going your way and this could be one of those years.

Let me ask you a question. Why does Grider get that Adcock man to give these boys some rehab real quick so they can play? Grider needs to do this so we can get everybody back for the playoffs.

I agree that injuries could take a toll but think part of SP success is the fact that they play a schedule like they do each year. To be better you have to play better. I dont know who will win this year, think that couple teams are capable good to see everybody making their case for their team, but think the playoffs are gona have some great games this year.

Rankings are great for talk and lots of it. I have enjoyed reading everyones thoughts. I will be the first to say that Wayne County has been playing pretty good football but I can't say that we should be #1. WC has to beat the best in order to be #1. IDK who the best is right now and you can't really go by the power rankings either. I have tried to look at who everybody has played and compare scores just like everybody has tried to do but until teams play head to head then we can't really tell. WC has pulled punches each week and could have beaten teams a lot worse than they have (except with MTP) and given up scores that they probably didn't have to give up by playing younger players. There are other teams that have done the same thing. Teams also match up differently with other teams and until head to head games are played it's really hard to say who is #1. The debate right now is great and everyone seems to enjoy putting their thoughts out there. I hope in the end that Wayne County proves to be #1. GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guy...you said what I said!!

I hate admit it, but I agree with both you and uncledave. I don't want to give up on the season just yet and we will know more after Boyd but I hate to be hanging till then...... but it is what it is..

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
