Huntingdon is a program that is storied in west tn. They destroyed a much favored david lipscomb team in 2003 state tital game. They are the last team to give Alcoa a challenge in 2004. They have beaten two 3A district champions this year in Milan and Camden. Milan would running clock both wayne and perry. I am not from Huntingdon. My grandfather played there but I played at Camden. Every team in quad 3 will have to play at Paul Ward Stadium as long as the mustangs are in the playoffs. You think its tough to play at jo byrns, you have no idea but your fixing to find out. That place smothers the life out of teams.

how is that relevant to anything?

How about read the post I quoted and try to realize I was hinting that Huntingdon has just as storied of a program as Gordonsville does. It seemed as if you were getting defensive as ironically I was actually defending Huntingdon.....

This is the same debate we get this time of the year nearly every year. 4 years ago it was Mt. Pilot a couple of years in a row. Then it was U.C. and they were a solid team that brought their A game and an exchange student kicker. Last year it was Jo Byrnes. W.C. and P.C. has been in the background noise for 3 or 4 years and Cascade was before moving up to 2a. Back in the 90s it was Moore County and Lake County. In the 60s and early 70s, it was TPS and Sweetwater. In the 70s it was Brentwood Academy, Alcoa and Rockwood. In the 80s it was Lake County, Spring Hill and Gordonsville. You probably don't see where I'm gong with this. But I will spell it out for you. We have a 59-23 playoff record comprising 5 gold balls, 4 silver balls and 5 other semi-final appearances and the 3rd round a bunch. This ain't the first dance.

I think Lake Co fared pretty well in those games back then.split with South Pittsburg and beat Meigs Co for the state and lost a few times to a school named Alcoa.I'd be willing to bet that Lake Co 's playoff record is pretty darn good.Had never lost to a Middle school team until several years ago during the playoffs which meant they always went pretty deep. And that's not bad for a school in a corner of the stste with no surrounding or nearby schools to steal recruits from like some other schools can from neighboring schools and close to out of state schools to get players from.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
