Coalfield's name reflects its history as a mining community.

It was the site of Coalfield Camp No. 1 and Coalfield Camp No. 2.

The town was established from those camps.

I don't think they do, but the town of Petros is where most of the movie "October Sky" was filmed, and it's about 5 miles form Coalfield.

Initially I thought the Rain and field helped GCA vs South Pitt in the 3 to 0 OT classic. But then I realized watching South Pitt in person on a dry nice field at Greenback last friday (A team GCA beat at the same place 40 to 0) that the rain helped South Pitt. On a dry nice field this year...... I think GCA beats South Pitt by 3 touchdowns. Should be fun next year down there.

 

I think South Pitt beats Coalfield Friday, but just let it sink in that GB and Rockwood gave SP and Boyd all they wanted. GCA beat those teams and the rest of the district like 250 to 0. Rockwood 28 to 0, GB 40 to 0.

 

Word of advice to Coalfield. Practice kick coverage this week. That is the SP greatest strength. GB blew it first play of the game.

UncleDave thinks you are mistaken. South Pittsburg did not play their best game Friday night, so you can't judge them by that. You should have watched them against several other good teams during the season. Just because you beat someone 250 to 0 does not mean jack squat. You can't compare scores because how the teams matchup usually dictates the score. You would have seen the speed of SP on that mudhole you call a field and would not have liked the outcome.

 

One thing that should sink in to you is that SP and Boyd are still playing for a title and you have been practicing basketball for 3 weeks. A win is a win no matter if it is by 1 point or 50!

 

It will be fun down at SP next year because you won't have those horrible refs giving the Pirates a home cooking!!

trying to make yourself feel better? If you had any experience in all this, you would know that you cannot compare scores and especially scores regular season vs playoffs. Oh it just hit me, you've not had much experience in the playoffs so your ignorance is excused. What was the score of your last playoff game? I seem to have forgot.

What you think doesn"t matter! Its what you know! If comparing scores meant one hill of beans then explain how the team we beat 28 to 17 got mercy ruled by 55 points to the same chattanooga grace SP scored 50 point on in the first half the week before. GB coach said it clearly they had two good weeks to prepare for SP. SP had four days and a meal at the Logans! As soon as they started digesting that steak and baked potato at the half business started picking up!

But just like GCA's 3-0 its a win and just like 28-17 its a win. Will be like next year at the PITT witha 42-12 SP beats GCA with honest refs and a field that don't look like a retention pond. Do us a favor-stay within the lines from here on out so you can show us instead of telling us about it during your BB season.

I wanted too Roy but I flew over Coalfield International last week and notice they have trees growing on the runway. What kind of mess is that? Click on this picture if you don't believe me. Grider needs to get me and powerp a bus.
