This post is for Coach Mo.

Coach Mo. it has been a long time since i have seen you. You were the basketball and baseball coach at Sevier for my 8th grade year. I played football, baseball and was going to play basketball although you decided to cut me and put two other boys on the team, i guess to help make them feel important, and for that i never took it personally. I have nothing but great respect for you as a coach and person. Your success as a young player is something i wish everyone knew about. I would try but i'm affraid i would'nt do it justice. Being the National High School Player of the Year was an awesome accomplishment. I just knew that when Coach Van Huss retired that you would be the perfect man for the job. I don't know why you did'nt get it, but whatever the reason, it was wrong. I can remember watching you shoot free throws until i got tired of watching you not miss.Ha Ha. And one thing i will never forget is watching you get so frustrated and yelling at a boy in our class named Corky. You used to say, " Ah, ah, Corky, get on your number son or i'll fire you up!!!!!! Anyway, good to know your doing well and best wishes.

Rio,Now everyone can tell you are not a person of your word. You stated you would not post again and you did so. I knew from your first post that you are way over your head. Your initial instinct to shut up would have served you well.

Thank you for letting us know that you graduated with honors. In this current day you probably graduated magna cum laude in English.Again, from your last post you continually butcher the English language. Tell us where you teach so that I can contact the State Dept. of Education and register a complaint. I am a taxpayer. I'm more concerned about your teaching ability than your lack of success as a basketball coach.

Please don't flatter yourself and think you have gotten underneath my skin. I don't think you have accomplished nearly enough to be able to do that.

It doesn't surprise me that you are knowledgeable about Viagra. If you wear an extra small jock and sit on the bench for extended periods of time it tends to cut off circulation. You also need to get a larger hat size. The blood circulation to your brain is obviously also a problem. You should work on lesson plans the rest of the afternoon so that for once you are prepared to teach. Please tell us where you teach so that I can call your principal and tell him to read your posts. Now before you get over your head again you should work on your lesson plans.

I believe the schedule and the lack of strength in that Region up there hurts DB, because they usually are much better than the competition up there and the wins in the regular season come too easy, then the shock of the playoffs is too much. I would like to see DB and Oak Ridge play again, even if Oak Ridge had to let Maryville go, since the probability is that OR would probably see Maryville in the playoffs anyway. DB traded OR for Clinton, and Clinton is not very good right now, they may get better, but it may take a couple of years. Maybe Science Hill will get better now, I am hearing they are starting to work harder there to build the program up, especially since they have that nice stadium to play in. I wouldn't be too hard on Coach Clark, like any coach, he has to have players that can execute, and it sounds like breakdowns in the kicking game cost DB the Sevier County game and the fumble on the goal line kept DB from scoring and tying the game in OT, coaches don't fumble, players don't intend to fumble, but do, it just happens. You live or die in the playoffs by avoiding turnonvers. Good luck to the Indians next year.

This is for Lost Old Dad.

I believe you aked a few days ago about coach Clark conserning his coaching history. Here's an article From TriCities.com that gives a good coaching resume for him written by BY TIM HAYES from BRISTOL HERALD COURIER; http://www2.tricities.com/sports/2008/sep/11/prep_football_graham_clark_always_a_warrior-ar-251798/

Jackson said he sees Clark’s lasting effects beyond the field and the impressive winning percentage.

“I really believe that his success hasn’t been so much as winning games, but the mark he has had on kids and how they remember him,†Jackson said.

You don't have to tell us!

For all of you outsiders who say that we really are not as good as we think and the players did'nt execute the plays and we can't beat anyone from Knoxville. Please shut up!!!! Unless you are an avid follower of the program you have no clue into this. Yes, we are that good. Yes, we have dominated the Knoxville area schools except for Maryville in recent history. And last but not least, the players lack of execution was a direct result of BAD COACHING or a lack of coaching. So, the rest of the Big Eight and the other conference fans can just shut up unless they know what they are talking about. We are still D-B, and we will always be your DADDY!!!!!! Roll Tribe!!!!!!!!!

From an outsider.....I hear passion, and true commitment to this program all through this thread wether you agree or disagree...you all care.

This alone will get you through a bad run of luck. It sucks, but thats what a lot of this comes down to. Make the playoffs next year, and get this monkey off your back. You can't keep a good program down.

Thank you for your input but we've already knocked that ideal down about ten times. Yes our schedule was easy but that didn't efect our team in the playoffs. This team was very good, I think one of the top 3 6A teams in the state. Our team was not in shock when they came out in the first round against Jefferson Co. and went up 30-0, holding Jeff. Co. to minus 26 yrds. total offense. The coach decided to quite at halftime and we got pushed around and outscored 14-7 in the second half. Most clear thinking coaches would of learned a lesson and would of never tryed that stunt again. The next week our team comes out in the first half and goes up 21-0 on Sevier Co.(a 11-1 Knoxville area team) Again our "coach" quites at halftime and we get outscored 35-7 in the second half. When you stop calling plays and start watching the clock it ruins the timing on your team, destroys their confidence, momentum goes to the other side and you do nothing but call the same plays that are not working and watching the clock. This is not the first time or the second time or the third time we have witnessed this coach do this. He has a problem that he can't fix, or he is throwing the games on purpose.

WaCo , what do you think the chances are of your " Coach " getting some young , upcoming Coach to take over Play calling for the Offense ? I bet there would be a lot of interested , well qualified candidates out there if there was a chance in a few years of taking over as head Coach . Would that be enough for you and some other disgruntled fans to maybe settle down a bit ? Or do you think this possibility would never happen ?
