District 9-AAA

Why is everyone quiet. Because you know I'm right.

Very few people will argue with you that Station Camp has the most talent in 9AAA this year.  Talent goes in cycles.

With that being said, you still have to play the games.  Coaching, injuries, health, fitness and mental state (and sometimes referees) play a huge part in determining who wins on a given night.

It should be an exciting season.

Station Camp will be at Franklin HS playday on Nov. 8th.

A lot of good teams will be there and then some not so good teams : Livingston Academy, Hillsboro, Overton, Knox Bearden, Breantwood, Ravenwood, Clarksville NE, Cheatham Co, CAK, Father Ryan, East Nashville, Summit, Portland, Glencliff, and Central Magnet.

At Franklin on Saturday November 8th. Station Camp plays Overton at 9:00 am. Hillsboro at 11:00 am. and Knoxville Bearden at 2:00 pm.

Hillsboro will probably still be missing football guys. Overton maybe. Don't know about Bearden.

From what I've heard, Bearden has been pretty bad at football this year. Same boat as Lebanon I believe

According to the team schedules you are correct. Bearden is winless. I really had no idea.

I simply wanted to make sure that everyone, including the Anderton stalker, knew that the other two teams would not be anywhere near full strength. Of course, if Station Camp beats them he (her, it, whatever) will still get on here spouting how they will win state because they won a scrimmage against half a team.

Lebanon played at Siegel today and beat Beardon and Franklin easily. Franklin has some football guys out though, so I don't know how they will be at full strength. Then Lebanon lost to Brentwood pretty bad. Brentwood will go to state this year. no doubt. They are lead by a bunch of seniors, pretty good size, and can shoot the lights out of it.

SC was also at Siegel. I know they lost to Siegel by 2 but Hodges and Anderton didn't play. I dont know about their other games.

    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war. Hope all stays healthy.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
