This is really my fault, I was saying director meaning school board director and it appears i lead people to believe school director. Problem when you try not to use names. Also, rufus, do we know one another? I mean whats your deal? My point was that Nancy seemed to be the only member who knew what was going on, if I was a board member and had people confronting me with questions and all i had to reply with was "I knew nothing about it"???? WOW, I guess I would feel like a idiot or something not to mention that I always kinda thought they put stuff like this to a vote so as everyone would feel like they chipped in. So in the end, its ok, cause Brewster did ok and landed at Grace? Thats BULL, the situation was handled wrong.

Maybe the situation wasn't handled wrong. Maybe the people who made the decision knew a lot more than what they divulged & just chose not to bring all their facts out & give John the opportunity to leave w/no baggage & still secure a job somewhere else. The best thing everyone can do is just let it go before people get tired of hearing about & start slinging mud about some of the stuff that was really going on. I'm sure there are plenty of people w/kids that played for him that could give an ear full to back up this but most chose to just let it go now that it's all over with. If you had no access to the team & were just a fan then you probably had no idea but even then you should have been able to see some glaring problems on the field that desperately needed addressed. Regardless, you can't cry over spilled milk. Just clean it up & move on. That's what everyone seems to be doing, including John since he already has a new job. The only place that I still hear people complaining about it is on here. Everyone needs to just wait on the new hire & give whoever it is their full support cuz they would've had nothing to do w/any of this anyway & this team is LOADED w/all kinds of potential under the right leadership. :thumb:

Atleast now Coach Brewster won't have to worry about some parents and family members calling in on Monday mornings to the principal complaining that little Billy didn't get enough playing time or some other crap like they did all year. But I do agree that the new coach whomever it be needs our support and will have mine.I just truly hope they remember that our director and principal don't care a bit to throw ya under the bus!

My guess is they care.....and weighed everything put in front of them. When a ship is running smoothly it can manage rough waters. I can't fanthom a good guess as to how the public perceived things were running, but apparently there was enough complications to manifest a new coach. Does that make John Brewster a bad man or coach.....I don't think it does. The expectations for the teams leadership is high without a doubt, I just think the bottom line was he failed to meet those expectations. Doesn't mean he was right or wrong with his decisions whatever they were. The team going forward can be a fabulous group if all the pieces come together. The anticipation of the coming Fall should very high....one would think every kid in this school would like to be a part of it. (we'll see about that) The new direction the team gets is going to be a interesting proposition.

OHS34, wouldn't know you from Sam Hill in the Possom Squat Community....have no beef with your animosity towards others. However, a decision was made (incorrectly or not) in an apparent attempt to get things back on track. That would be the hope of every Oneida Fan on this board.....me included. Like I said, We'll see if that happens before I set out to join the pitchfork and noose party.

All I really ever wanted to get across was this: You run into a friend, they say "hey your old high school team did pretty good this year went to 3rd round, seen where they fired their coach...whats up with that?" See, it just don't add up. In the beginning all the buzz was that it happened to make room for a previous coach, that ticked me off because its wrong. Now we'll just sit back and wait to see if these guys predictions are correct.

I'm not predicting, just stating facts that will be revealed within the next two weeks. Sit back and watch it has been in the works for several weeks now. I don't know why the Indian Nation has their head in the sand. The change is what is best for the program if we are to compete for championships again.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
