Good luck with whoever the powers that be deside to hire. I just hope its whats best for the kids. I know nothing of the situation, but this don't seem very fair to Coach Brewster,I'm sure he lives and breaths Oneida football and deserves to give it a try with all the returning starters.Sorta like getting married and someone else taking the lovely on the honeymoon.

Yeah man, I'll be back next year in full force, annoying you all! :flower:

You know being on here, I really want to be a good Christian, first and foremost, and then a positive fan of ALL football and THEN an Oneida fan. I didn't do any of those really well this year! Completely had to step off and clear my head. I'm gonna blame it on being Irish and growing up on the other side of the Mississippi!

Once again, back on the trail for a Cheif! Get this crew on the right track and good things will happen!

I still don't like the way the T$$AA handles the ref situation :thumb:

Ahh! A fellow irishman. :thumb: Its hard to be a Christian and be Irish my friend. :)

It seems strange that no one on this board knows why a successful coach was fired.

If you want to know the reasons, give Ann or one the school board members a call and they will explain their thoughts on the matter.

I doubt anything else will be said (ESPECIALLY on here) other than speculation on the new coach. I hope the powers that be open up the process and give everyone a shot to interview as coach the of Indians. Lot of raw talent there.

No one will talk because of who is involved, and who the next coach is. That's how back door politics work. It's a shame.

You are somewhat correct about some folks not talking because of "back door politics" but most of us are just letting it go out of respect. Respect for both coach Brewster & for other "potential" new hires. We need to remember that neither coach Brewster nor potential new coaches made this decision, that falls on the shoulders of the powers that be.

If I took the time to call "Ann" or anyone else involved, I would want FACTS, not their thoughts.

I've been thinking about all this long and hard. Shoot when you ain't got much better to do than skip rocks down in the hollar....it gives you a chance to "mull" over things.

The kids need to resurrect their enthusiasum for playing football again. I remember leaving some games this year thinking the team had "mailed it in" on a night that they should have stirred the flames....! (Coalfield) They walked out on that field....stomped on that yeller jacket....and then got stomped themselves.

The old folks need to voice their opinions, but let people that get paid to do what they do....do it. The timing isn't the best, and certainly not in the spirit of the season, but if a change was going to occur....when is a good time? The administration is moving another direction, the new guy better be in place quickly in order for him to get his well stocked ship to sea next Fall. That means implimenting whatever system he has, selling it to his kids, and create a well-oiled machine by August. (that will include a learning curve during Spring practice, right?)

I hate it for John...he can certainly allow the teachings he has given his players apply to the character he shows from here, and a good ball coach always lands on his feet...you watch. There are rumors running that he is doing just that.

I hope there is a stampede to the weightroom in January. The kids coming back have a real opportunity to re-ignite the Traditions of winning football up here. They just have to do the work! We fence sitters certainly want that to be the case. Whoever the man is at the helm has some very solid tools to work with!

I'm gonna pencil you in for head coach Injun! How about that! I would take over, but I would have the Indians fist-fighting on the field like Coalfield!

I am not up on the rumors. What I have heard is that Ann and School Board are going to open the position up to anyone who wants to drive up hill and live/coach in Oneida. I hope Coach May comes back as OC, I really thought he was working on some good stuff! Hope Burchfield comes back. Man, he is old school...May, Kreiss, JC Campbell....dont make em like that anymore!

Smash sounds like Coalfield didnt need to do any fist fighting to put a whoopin on your injuns this year that a-jax couldnt wipe off. A friend of mine that went to the game said that they gave oneida a thrashing that they might carry with them for the next 4 years and he and I both dont even like coalbucket. He said they abused every oneida player on the field for 4 quarters including the kicker. :roflol: Was it really that bad?

Was it as bad in 2008 when Oneida trashed, no destroyed Coalfield 49-0. Or how about 2009...Oneida 36, Coalfield 0.

Or how about when you choked in 2006....that Hampton team had a lot of good JR's

Coalfield shamed Oneida this year and I hope the Indians will file that that thought into their winter work out. Who knows, they may just drink beer and forget about it.

I will give you credit though, Your right. Oneida played really poorly at times this year and I couldnt handle it. Is what it is. Is what it was.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
