Head to head must not have been part of the seeding ctiteria.... Garcia defeated Olson at 132 last week on his way to winning McGavock and was seeded 3. Olson gets top seed....

I sent my lineup in tuesday during the day which was before the clarksville matches.

That should be an outstanding match up! My guess is that may even be best match! Should be exciting!

Why would this be a good match? Newberg should be a prohibitive favorite due to the following:

1. Defending state champion at a higher weight classification

2. Everyone knows that a state champion in D1 is much more impressive than a D2 Champion

3. It has been reported that Hooker certified at 145# but has been wrestling 160# to fill a gap and help his team. He is now going up to 170# to test his ability against Newberg.

4. Newberg will be bigger, faster & stronger

5. Has signed with Nebraska

6. Is ranked 12th in the nation at 170# and Hooker is not ranked at any weight.

 

While I admire Mr. Hooker for wanting a challenge this could be a big injury risk with the bigger, faster, stronger Newberg. I ask you what chance does Hooker really have to win?

ok, Ill give you the size factor. its quite impressive Hooker wants to move up for a challenge. As far as everybody knowing d-I is tougher than d-II thats pretty funny. Its not even close when you are talking about the top kids. I bet Hooker gives him all he wants. Ill bet its pretty impressive for someone who should be 145-152. In fact Ill go out on a limb and say its a 2 pt match either way.
