How is the recruiting going? It must be a bit troubling knowing your local boys cant get the job done by themselves. :popcorneater:

I think that question needs to be directed to you. OC famously doesn't believe in his local talent. If he did, he wouldn't be constantly trying to get everybody else's. Proof is in the pudding.....actually its on a desk or in a filing cabinet at this point.

You can't "replace" Irrazory, but you can certainly fill in with more than capable, if not, just as dangerous weapons. Peterson, one of the state's top prospects, is certainly capable, oh not to mention that the starting freshman tailback from 2 years ago may be back. Plus, LOTS of young talent. Should be no worries from the Marshall folks.

Peterson was somewhat of a let down last year after his sophmore year wasn't he.

Not at all. He started at tailback the first two games.....did very well. In all actuality, it's hard for a receiver to stand out in a power running offense. He actually had as many yards rushing as irizarry against Lewis. He's on all the state's top recruits lists for a reason. He'll have no problem showing why this fall.

I think you guys are jealous we got the better RB from Lawrence County last year. Giles was missing a legit RB last year which they needed against Devils. So we may not have won the playoff game but by landing Trevor we hurt Giles. I am trying to make myself feel better after last November's beating.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
