Do people not understand that defense is huge in girl's basketball? These teams do NOT match up well. Stone will set the pace of this game. Stone beat Waverly because they took what Waverly does best (set a composed pace) and uped it. I still think they lose, but will be a single digit margin.

I agree with you to some extent. Stone Memorial really looked well coached and played really solid defense. But, Obion can play good defense as well. They shut down Massengil and frustrated her all day. I think that this will be a low scoring affair and will be a game for one half. I just don't know where Stone Memorial will get their offense. They may slow them down, but Obion and Waverly is not even a comparison. I don't know how Waverly beat Macon County. Waverly must have brought in their own officials. Obion 45 Sone Memorial 28

Waverly really struggled in the opening round. If it was your first time seeing them play, I can understand why you are saying this. But.... you gotta go hard every game, or it's peace out.

Waverly beat Macon Co. because they were better. Macon Co. beat Waverly at Macon Co. last on a shot at the buzzer in the Sectional. If you think that was the real Waverly team the other day, you were sadly fooled. Waverly could have won it all had they played like to their capabilities.

Really?!?! 4th quarter and only a 3 point game.......don't be counting them chickens before they hatch...

Yes, Stone Memorial deserves respect. They had a good game plan and did a great job. Tough loss and what a run. They were beat by a good Obion team. I was one of those who thought this would be no contest.

Mismatch. Obion can name their score, IMO. Stone shut down a good shooting Waverly team that couldn't buy a free layup, but Stone can't shoot either. 8 to 8 at halftime.........really?

Anyway, good luck to both teams, would be nice to see another close game, however, I feel that Stone has no hope on the low block to stop Goodman. Goodman scores 30, Obion in state final Saturday.

I guess Obion wanted to win by less than ten.... Kudos to the Lady Panthers for another hard fought game. And congrats to Obion on the win.

Waverly beat Macon county because they are a strong group of girls. They had a bad game Wednesday like any team can.

Sometimes strange things happen to good teams when they make a run for all the marbles. Congrats to Stone on a good season and a great run in the tourney. :flower:

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
