Maybe you could just play TC twice & drop SC. If G'ville beats 'em, they'll quit playing anyway.

 

I thought about responding....then thought ......what's the point. Everybody knows,Even though they might not want to admit it, or except it.

 

I believe both programs benefit from the gate. Huge crowds for this game. Some people go to this game only. Who benefits most? Gordonsville. Other than SC,FC and TC the rest are usually average. SC has big gates from G-ville, WH, WC,MC and LA usually travel well.I don't know yet, but they say Warren Co. travels well. Sometimes it's just a matter of bigger schools bring more people.

SC is able to do things G-ville can't ,or don't ,to generate a little money for the program, But none of that matters.The game usually a good game to watch. If's fun to poke at each other. Sometimes it goes a little over the top,which is OK. Gotta love and back your school and community. The only reason not to play this game are the idiots that have an actual,real hatred for the other school. I'm SC 1st, then I TRY to support the local schools, After all, these are neighbors and kids from this area .

quit your crying you are never going to win a state title because you get beat the first or second round the only teams you can win against are weak or a one A team all the good kids you say you have smith county you should win a state title every year. signed gville.

Gordonsville gets some pretty good gates with TC and FC. The life of our football program doesn't depend on if we play SC or not.

 

Sorry Croz - You were the one who said in a prior post that SC "NEEDS" to play Gordonsville for the gate. And for sure, SC football does not depend on playing Gordonsville to survive!!!! Also Grunt, you know why SC and TC don't play.

I meant Gville "needs" to play SC about the same as SC "needs" to play Gville. Neither team depends on the game for the success of their program, but both benefit from it. I think that's a fair assessment. Either way the streak ends Friday. The last time Gville won was in the hole. Can't wait.

I agree with your assessment - can't go along with the streak ending. Should be a very good game, looking forward to seeing the game. Hope all participants free from injury.

      Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.

      It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.

      Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface.
