I love how all the publics that don't consistently win are the ones that complain about privates. I seriously don't think I've ever seen where a TC fan or a SP fan has complained about playing privates. The rest of y'all come to the assumption that y'all cant compete because of our oh so many advantages over publics. So you can't beat us then just kick us out right? It's never "maybe we should work harder" instead, it's "just get rid of em"

Well said Commander, well said.

Reaction......I attended Boyd Buchanon in my formative years. If I can't do math it is because the educators there couldn't teach it. Don't worry, they did me right.cool.png I can stomach losing to anyone when they all are utilizing the same procedures. Now Pitt and TC have really outstanding teams for years and there may be variables in their area which are better suited to sustaining their programs than in other parts of the state. I don't exactly know the magic potion those programs have other than a commitment to excellence within their community. All I do know is they can't "pluck" a kid from the surounding area and make it possible for that kid to attend the school under the "ruse" of academics or religious affiliation. I can tell you the name of a practicing Muslum attending a private school in Middle Tennessee.....oh yeah, he also happens to be 6'4" 275 LBS.! Sounds like the size of a average single A linemanroflol.gif . In the public domain that is referred to as a Gift from Heaven.....in the private sector it is the newest edition to the offensive line. I throughly enjoy playing the Hamptons, TC's, South Pitts, Greenbacks, Cloudlands of the world because the field is level. The only State Championship we have won had to be done against a team that had a different set of rules than we did.....and we had arguably our best team ever.

So you are saying TSSAA allows privates playing D1 to play by different rules?

Thank you sir. Im one of the worst about getting off topic but lets atleast keep it in the last 4 or 5 years. Come on SP posters we all have a history. Start a thread so yall can have all the fun yall want. Just a suggestion.

I know you ain't talking to me. I put the 1A teams out here. The east is Gordonsville or Greenback's to lose. The west is Union City or Huntingdon's to lose.

PuHo! LoL

No sandbagging, SP isn't as good as they have been. They are allowing about four scores each game against below average teams. A lot of work to do if they want to be in the conversation of Greenback and Gordonsville.

I concur. We have lots of work to do on the defensive side of the ball

I think we are ahead of Greenback

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
