Last years perry county team could have beat SP as well. I'll argue that till I die. Tucker was a monster and could single handedly change the outcome of any game. SP was good no doubt but they just wasn't the best last year.

Guess he didn't change the game they lost in the playoffs lol He was a good player.

What a silly post!Didnt you all get beat in the playoffs?I heard alot about the Tucker kid he was a geat player, but if you make that post the you all should have been in the Championship game--You were not.And far as im concerned Pitt is still the #1 team until a 1A team beats them! new guy needs a new brain....PC is back to being irrelevant and as for the 'Wood" i think you are grasping for some slim hope for your district....no one in your district should even be in conversation of quality football this season....That's just how it is...Wayne County was special last year and they will likely be back at sone point, however the rest of the teams in your area have a ways to go

My question about Perry County is this. They have always been a great basketball school. They were horrible in football until Jacob Tucker came through. Will they be relevant again? No doubt he was a great player that single handily won games for them. Will they be back without a Tucker?

Itll be a long time before they have something like they had with tucker and mercer

Anytime soon..Probably not. In the future, who knows? I don't know what Perry County will produce in the distant or near future. All I know is we have a way of occasionally producing amazing athletes every few years, and I don't expect that to just stop anytime soon.

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
