There's no way around it...nearly everything said in the last few pages is true. We got whipped. Fair and square. BB #78 is definitely a handful. #15 ran at will up the middle. And if that wasn't working #1 would get five yards on a keeper. Our defense had no answer for them.

Fumbled snaps also took a toll on us. Lankford couldn't find his footing. Neither could Hale. Don't get me wrong - I think they're great, but they just couldn't get out of first gear tonight. Little Man was definetly burning nitro tonight. But the team as a whole just couldn't put it together. We were flat as a pancake. As far as I know there were no injuries, so that's one good thing we came away with tonight. It's time to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and get ready for a bumpy ride.

Tough game to watch being a Pirate fan, but the line play for the Bucs was the difference...along with the great kicker they have. We just don't have enough quality lineman to dominate on the line...or else they are taking plays off. Our backfield is solid but can't break tackles when they are meeting 3-4 guys at the line of scrimmage. Little Man ran hard and had two big runs tonight or this game would have been more embarrassing than it was. The Pirates seemed to be in another world from the beginning and the Bucs slammed the ball down their throat and smacked them in the mouth. Like someone said earlier, the Pirates could possibly lose the next two games if they don't play with more effort and discipline. Only the veteran players can turn around this team because the road does not get any easier from here.

Bucs, good luck the rest of the year. Your team is solid and will be in the mix for the road to Cookeville.

Hears some stats for you Pirate fairhful and also some for you bucs that think you are best for beating us.

Boyd had 264 Total Yards. We forced them to punt 5 times. We had 365 yds and punted 5 times.

51 rushes for 233 yds for Boyd. We had 41 for 336 rushing. Little man Johnson had 14 for 250.

We turn the ball over they didn't.

    • Biggest position to fill is QB. Kamden was special. A 1A team that can run and pass is very dangerous.
    • That would have been Coach Benjamin who was his legal Guardian and the DB coach.  I was the LB's Coach that was barely older than the players (I was going to UT for school and had started at Greeneville since my Sophomore year when Z coached there and he asked me to help coach)
    • Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.
    • Gibson County proved last year you can win it all with 6 players and if I’m not mistaken they only played 5 in the championship game. I would expect them to be good by end of season but I think losing Hart is a huge loss.  Summer camp gives teams a preview of what to expect and it’s exciting to see where teams are at. The Fillies return 3 starters and the 6th man that is 6’2” and I think she is going to surprise folks this season.
