Some final numbers from Maryville:

First Downs: Maryville 20, DB 20

Rushing: Maryville 33-357; DB 62-296

Passing: Maryville 150; DB 95

C-A-I: Maryville 6-8-0; DB 7-16-2

Total Offense: Maryville 41 plays, 507 yards; DB 78 plays, 391 yards

 

Maryville Individual Stats:

No. 23 Trenton Shuler (on his birthday): 12 carries, 169 yards, 53 yards receiving, 3 TDs

No. 22 Shawn Prevo: 12 carries, 147 yards, 2 TDs

No. 11 Nick Myers: 6-of-8, 150 yards, 3 TD passes (Shuler, Prevo, Raymond)

 

DB Individual Stats:

No. 6 Malik Foreman: 21 carries, 123 yards

No. 8 Devaun Swafford: 18 carries, 87 yards; 3 cathces, 34 yards

Safe travels home for the all DB fans.

 

Wow what a ball game that #23 had, lights out. The first TD run was awesome, just glad our big slow back was able to outrun DB"s world class speed.

 

Very obvious our game plan was to let them pick up first downs but do not give up the big play. GQ and company did a great job.

I was thinking the same thing about Shuler...I was expecting some guy to run him down, but..........it never happened.

Fellers D-B haz a good teem...Congrats on a vurry good seesun.....And a grait band.....Werd eye hurd wuz thay were asked knott two come on the feeled befour tha start ov thga gaim and did so ennyhow....(Knott sayin' thay ain't big and good enuff...awsum haif-time sho)......

 

Mairvul jist taiks whut ewe give 'em on offence......That GQ iz tha burries inn findin a weeknuss....And makin' peepull pay.....

#39 I can only tell you that you are in my prayers buddy.....You are the epitome of a true Maryville Rebel.....Maybe not the biggest, or the fastest....But they can't measure heart, guts, and desire...and you've got a boat load.....!!!!

Congrats to Maryville. Clearly, they were/are the better team. DB could not afford any turnovers to have a chance. Even if they had not turned it over, I'm not sure if that would have been enough. I'm proud of the way the young men from Kingsport fought hard. They should be proud of their season. Many o' seasons have ended on that field.

      Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.

      I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first?       The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..

      I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
