Early predictions for 8-AA 2013

Yes I know this. He is now the AD (athletic director) at Stewarts Creek in the Boro. They have to beat somebody to even be considered to be #1.

I think I seen were independense has 3 of the top 12 ranked kid in the state. I say SC goes 6-4. Loses to Alcoa, LA and split with UHS or Gordonsville, DC or Cookeville. Best case everything clicks 8-2 with only loses to Alcoa and LA, worse case lose 3 out of 4 with UHS,DC,GH,CHS and finish 5-5.

Smith county. Ughhh. I just dont like the offensive scheme. Seems the guys arent buyin into it either. No fire under their tails. Not playing with any heart. Flat. Not playing tuff. Not knocking anybody around. Predictable. Lethargic. Suppose to have a great running back. Spread that field out. Give the kid some room and a chance to make something happen. Look for some 10 yard quick passes over the middle. Give ur qb some confidence. One wide out screams stack the line. If u dont have stellar talent then mix it up and make it confusing. Idk. Not buyin into it much myself either. Maybe it just needs more time. Well see.

If SC goes 5-5 they will burn that coach of theirs at the stake.

Whoopty do they had those very same kids last year and won 6 games. Now granted they have a better coach this year, but that side of the 6a bracket has mt Juliet and whitehaven. I am from Missouri so they are going to have to SHOW ME!!!!

Ill put it this way, I think they go 3-1 before they go 1-3. If SC was to lose badly to Alcoa, you could see a hangover effect carry on into the next game.

Don't claim to know a lot about football but why isn't the 2nd best athlete on the team (SC) not playing offense where the offense is stagnant. He started last year as a freshman on defense and wound up the year as one of out best players. Bailey Kemp is the young man of which I speak. He would have to prove to me that he couldn't play QB. Can't throw the ball? with our offense scheme the longest pass he would have to throw would be be 20 yards. STUMPED !!!!!!!!

Good question, looks like they would figure out ways to get the ball in his hand if he is the second best athlete on the team.

You enjoy preaching to the choir don't you? Rutherford co schools always have legit teams. Williamson co you have Brentwood and the rest are suspect at best most of the time. IHS had one good year and Sonny Gray and company destroyed them. They are going to run a 4-4 slanting defense. They are going to spread the ball out on offense. Since you have obviously jumped on the bandwagon...I am going to say they don't win their district and lose in 2nd round of playoffs.

You might be right but compared to a 3a upper cumberland schools Williamson Co schools are very good. Just look what Fairveiw did to Smith and they could hand with Indpendence, Bentwood, Brent acd., Ravenwood and most years page. its just a diffrent level down there by the boro.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
