Sonny_Moore puts Covington as a 10-point favorite over Liberty Magnet.

Of the 13 games the two teams have played this year, there is not one common opponent.

One thing I notice is that Liberty lost 4 of their first 5 games (to Henry Co., Dyer Co., Lexington, and Jackson N. Side). They have since won 8 in a row including turning a 42-7 loss to Lexington into a 42-18 win when they met them a second time. This team seems to be getting better as the season goes on.

However, don't bet against my Chargers.

1st Congrats on your win tonite Chargers.over one of the best 4a teams in the state however.to note Liberty is a completely different team from 1st 5 games....Chargers must stay focused playing one game / play at a time or its bb time....again it wont be easy so focus must be kept and plan to play a team as capable of winning as yourselves..rootin for yall from 13 AA ..keep firing on all cylinders and never giove in.. the road gets tougher now ..be prepared !

This will be a GREAT game.. Cov is rolling unbeaten.. Lib is rolling at the right time.. I got Covington going to state so I gotta stick to it! Don't take Liberty lightly because they are one of if not the most athletic teams on this side of the river and have a great coach!

Debating on the long drive to Covington or the short drive to North Side or Adamsville!

Here's some info on the Liberty win last night:

Liberty drives White House out of playoffs

WHITE HOUSE —

Senior quarterback Dominique Davis led Liberty Tech on a nine-play, 75-yard scoring drive to send the Crusaders to the Class 4A semifinals with a 27-23 victory over White House on Friday night.

"It's great," Davis said. "I just haven't ever led the team like that."

Davis capped the drive with a 16-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Ajon White in the right side of the end zone with 50.9 seconds remaining.

Fourth-seeded Liberty Tech (7-6) overcame a 20-6 third-quarter deficit.

"We knew what we had to do," Davis said. "We came out and did it ... played Tech ball. That's what it is."

The Crusaders scored on each of their first three possessions in the second half.

Senior running back Courtney Bush ripped off an 80-yard touchdown run on his squad's first play from scrimmage in the second half, which came after Blue Devils senior placekicker Chase Dunlap split the uprights with a 40-yard field goal to extend a 17-3 halftime advantage.

Then, a 56-yard pass from Davis to senior Tyler Taylor set up Davis' 3-yard touchdown run with 11:52 remaining.

The third of Nathan Welch's extra-point kicks tied the game at 20.

"We just executed better," Liberty coach Steve Hookfin said of his squad's second-half improvement offensively. "We ended up calling the right plays.

"We called the right play at the end gambling that they were going to be in man (coverage), and they were. It would have been a bad call if they were in zone."

White House (7-6) responded with a 12-play scoring drive that reached the Crusader 6 yard line before Dunlap came on to make a 28-yard field goal, placing his squad back in front with 4:08 showing.

However, Bush ran for gains of 20 and 17 yards on the game-winning drive.

Bush finished with 178 yards rushing on 13 carries.
