let me put it to you this way, if you were coaching 3rd in a 2-1 game in the top of the 3rd . Runner on third base with one out in the inning with a left handed batter up with a 0-1 count would you run the squeeze bunt play to tie the game?

 

Or would you see if the batter can put one in play and score the run? Pass ball scores, grounder scores, pop fly to outfield might score. BUT the bunt was not laid down, runner out, now you have 2 outs and a 0-2 on the batter.

 

With opposing runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out would you walk the batter to load the bases and play double play depth since you have an all district SS or would you bring your infielders in so the batter can slap hit one past the SS and give up two runs? or maybe load the bases for a force at any bag............... might be a better option......

No the real question is what would have MP have done...... lets see last year, during spring break , no classes, practice twice a day. This year take the week off ........ last year take infield prior to the game, drag the field again, then play this year, no infield prior to the game, lets just warm up and play the game.

Wow this is amazing to hear, your coach doesn't sound motivated enough. You need a coach that is "all in" and it doesn't sound like he is. Or maybe he just isn't that good of a coach.
