Spring Hill Coaching Job

So Giles should be expecting to lose to S.H. in year two, right? 😄 <Insert but we beat him in the playoffs joke here>

No joke - the last time I checked, the Giles Co. team beat the Marshall county team - in the playoffs. Establishing a personality after losing for so long takes time - beating Giles during the regualr season was a terrific accomplishment. If memory serves me, lots of people were conceding the 4A state championship to Giles - and they lost againd in the semi's.

Good luck to Coach Turch and Spring Hill. You will be greatly missed at Mt Juliet.

Spring Hill has hired a great Coach and even finer person. I am glad my son had the opportunity to know him and be around him while he was at MJ. My son thinks the world of him.

He is one heck of a coach. He is hard, and very disciplined and very fair. ( I watched many of his practices with the D line. ) If the boys aren't afraid of hard work and listen to him they will thrive.

He was a BIG reason MJ went to the 6A semi finals. He did an outstanding job with the Bear D line.

I just cant speak highly enough of him as a coach and a person. It was a pleasure getting to know him and talking with him and watching how he taught those young men about football and more importantly about life.

Dang! I stated in an earlier post about MJ that this was one that I hoped remained on the MJ staff. I sure didn't want him to leave. You are 100% correct. Their D-line was MUCH improved with him. He will be missed is an under statement. Good luck to ya coach.

Been out of the state traveling on business. Just got on to see if there were any comments about turchetta at SH - interesting about how folks did not want him to leave Mt. Juliet. With the comments about him from earlier when names were bandied about again interesting that folks talk of his positive affect on the program at MJ when it was already established as a winning program. As far as I am concerned I choose to believe my friends at MCHS and agree that SH hired the right person for the job. Way too many affirmatives about him for it to be a wrong choice. Good luck to the Raiders and the new coach!

To the Raiders of Spring Hill; your program is on the verge of making huge strides. You can shock the world and win this year; but it will be up to you; the players. Coach Turch demands hard work, doing things right way all the time ( on and off the field ), and class. Don't just listen to what he and your other coaches tell you and teach; buy in 110%. It wont be easy; but it will pay off beyond your wildest dreams. Learning to win is a habit as is learning how to lose. Losing should not be tolerated or excepted in anyway. It comes down to how bad do you want to win. There is no replacement for hard work. Hard work beats talent that does not work hard every time. Understand and know that success begins in spring and summer work outs in the weight room as does your opportunity to start. Believe in yourself and your team. Good luck this fall. Your Mt Juliet fans will be cheering for you.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
