Yellowstone
Were their hands tied in that they had to hire a football coach that was Church of Christ? Church of Christ played a factor, however Coach Mote was also the cheapest and had less demands of the final 8 candidates according to sources. TheAmbassador
This is unbelievable. A coach that has a career losing record? I'm shocked at this one.
cubs1
Why did they not hire the ex-cheatham co coach that is on staff? His resume, I would think, is better.

cougarconfidential
It is kind of like the guy that runs around on his wife. Then suddenly realizes this is not turning out exactly what he thought it would be. By then it is way too late to turn back. Right now most of those individuals have the deer in the headlight look. This is absolutely hilarious.

volsrock
i must say i am stunned by this hire, there were several church of christ state championship coaches out there...good luck to coach mote and the cougars...it will be a great chance for him to build a winning record...they will win 7 games each year by just going out on the field

And TC is definitely not in their usual championship form lately either. The record will look good. He'll have to schedule tough non-district games to be ready for post season, though. cubs1
Schedule for the next two years include non-district game against FRA, BGA, Cane Ridge, Lipscomb and Maplewood. That should get them ready for the playoff run in 2A. Good luck to all the cougars.
slimshady
GP will do good to be 7-3 this season...6-4 or 5-5 is more realistic.
53fan
Did Coach Mote hire any coaches yet? Heard Coach Goff from riverside was interested.
