• Three Memphis-area football standouts will play in national all-star games this weekend. Memphis Central wide receiver Latevius Rayord, a Vanderbilt commitment, will be playing in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, Friday, January 4, 2012, in Carson, California. The game will be broadcast on the NFL Network, starting at 8:00 p.m. CST. Memphis Central defensive end Frank Heron (LSU) and Memphis East offensive lineman Christian Morris (UCLA) will both play in the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, which will be televised on Saturday, January 5, 2012 at noon on NBC.
  
• Whitehaven High's football team will be honored with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy during a ceremony at the school on Friday, January 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. CST. The Tigers finished the year 54th in the M_A_XPreps final rankings after finishing the year 15-0 and winning the class 6A state championship in a 36-35 overtime victory over Maryville.
  

Congratulations to those mentioned above for the rewards and honors bestowed upon them.

I am glad Jason Carr is still commited to UT. On Volquest there is a poster from Memphis that goes by the name Galilee. He used to work at Mitchell High School. He met Butch Jones and was really impressed with him. I love the Maryville Rebels and the UT Vols.
