8AA Mid Season Review

I think (I said I think, not positive lol) it was because as everyone was running back down the court he ran over a player and they went to the ground. I love Coach Martin's intensity, though. Like I said this was just an observation I made and have no idea if it had anything to do with it.

And what in the world did the guy say to Howell in the bleachers, lol? I saw the guy look like he pushed him after he went into the bleachers and then say something and Howell turned around.

Exactly! Thats what made the dominance statement a joke. When LA went to post they scored. Would've liked to see more . Dekalb out rebounded LA but most of those were long bounces from both teams shooting alot of threes. Still not inside dominance.

 

But there wasn't exactly "scoring at will" like you insinuated either. I was pointing out that it was pretty even, despite the fact that the remark was made earlier in the season that Ramsey was much more athletic than Atnip. He may be, but it was shown from the perimeter, not in the post. Otherwise, Atnip would have fouled out.

 

Either way, GREAT game! Emotions ran high, and both of us showed we were the top two teams in 8-AA. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way, I sincerely mean it.

Eh, it happened, and its over. Emotions ran high and sometimes things happen. Just glad that the situation didn't escalate for both sides sake. Livingston has a great following and I give them props for that.

 

On that note, this was the best crowd at any DC game this year, period. There were more people there tonight than at the Cannon game.

I sat 4 rows behind bench tonight. He was yelling at referee for an illegal screen. Never heard him yell at a player, unless it is Howell. Always yelling at him. Lol

Really? I was thinking Cannon had a little more. Cannon's student section at the end alone was huge. Good crowd for both, though. Maybe it was because it was Cannon, just seems that way.

Cannon might have brought more people, but this was our best home crowd definitely.

According to the box score Ramsey hit 3 threes &1 free throw leaving him scoring 24 inside the arc. Atnip hit 1 three & 4 free throws. Scoring 12 inside the arc. Dekalb had 3 in double figures & LA had 4 in double figures. Sounded pretty balanced to me. Ramsey is much more athletic than Atnip which will translate to him getting the d1 scholarship. Atnip uses his body well & when he is allowed to jump into the def causing contact than he is a load. But that was La's fault for not taking the hits & falling. The fast break was a joke, him going away from the basket to run over bubba jolley & no call. I still have LA picked to win the region but they will have to go straight at Atnip & force the whistle. Wondering how the two students got thrown out? I know both & im sure words were exchanged but the guards were on the other end so they didnt have the right to throw them out for yelling unless they heard bad language. Coach Martin should've followed since he was on the floor leading cheers. He was pointing & yelling at Ramsey not about him. Howell was a beast.

Unlike some, I dont think MVP has to come from the 1st place team. Ramsey is the mvp no doubt! Just like on the girls side, la is in 1st now but sissom from cannon is the mvp even if livingston does win it all. The notion that the 1st place team gets the nod automatically is ridiculous. Everyone is proud of their own & should be, but if you are starting a team & had pick of all these guys & didn't pick ramsey than your not being honest with yourself.

I thought the ref asked for them to leave and the school resource officer along with vice principal escorted him out to enforce what the ref had asked for. That's what I heard, anyway. I'm sure words were exchanged both ways, but when a player trying to hustle accidentally goes into the bleachers there is no need for shoving. But as said before, it is done and over.

I've said MULTIPLE times in this topic that Ramsey's numbers do not lie. I'm saying that they need a share of the title simply because of how I've seen the coaches vote in the past, and that's what I based my prediction off of. Very VERY rarely (at least that I've seen) does the MVP come from a team that isn't in first place, or that had at least tied for first. I'm not going to be one bit surprised if LA finishes 2 or 3 and he gets MVP though, because it will be deserved.

 

Also, check your math again. I think you meant 18 inside the arc for Ramsey.
