I wouldn't cancel any seasons yet. Just making the point that we don't feel threatened, especially not from a West TN team.

Wouldn't want you Bucs to feel threatened especially from a West TN team that won the 5A State Championship in 2011.Doesn't matter what part of the state you are from, you have to respect all teams !!!

I can assure you that our Bucs are not taking anyone for granted. This is a brand new year, and 2013 can be anyone's year. I do like our chances, not soley because of Hurd, but because of the tremendous effort that I am seeing from the other guys too. Spring practice can't get here quick enough!

Vol, Do you see the Beech / MJ game getting moved to Thursday night lights? I would be suprised if this didn't happen. It should be one of the best games of the season.

 

The Bears are looking forward to playing one of the best teams in the state and one of the best backs in the country.

Then again; I can see the Beech / Station Camp game being a Thursday night game due to Hurd and #3 from SC being both Top 100 recruits.

As of right now, we do not have a Thursday Night Lights game scheduled and we may not. I don't agree with that, but it is that way at the moment. Personally, if I had the choice though, I would rather air the Mt. Juliet game than the SC game. It would be much more intense.

MJ / Beech is a great rivalry. Who are thhe returning skill payers beside Hurd. I know you lost most of your line. What will you have back on D?

Yes, our lines will be the big question mark this year. We have a lot of big guys, but they are inexperienced and will have to step up. Fortunately, we did not lose a lot of skill players. We did lose our starting qb, but our backup (Henry - who will be a senior) should step in nicely. He has played a lot the past couple of years and should do well. Our backfield is completely intact with Hurd, Carter and Campbell. I expect to see Carter and Hurd play a lot of defense too. Our db's (lead by state MVP - Hawkins) should be solid too.
