Good to see the Rebels return to the state for the first time since 2007. I think the 2007 team flew under everyone's radar and ended up walking away with an improbable state title. Because of the 2007 title, opponents will take Maryville basketball a little more seriously than they did in 2007. Maryville will not sneak up on anybody in 2013. Siegel will be a very tough opponent for Maryville but the Rebels are a battle hardened bunch after winning their last two elimination games in OT against Powell and Science Hill. This experience has to help MHS if they are in another close game in Murfreesboro.

Where are all the Maryville and Siegel fans? I watched Siegel in the State Tourney and know they have a Duke like student section.

Maryville can win this game...Last time OR played siegel @ Maryville High in the Christmas tourney 2 years ago, we beat them. Maryville can, too.

This should be a great game. Maryville knows they got a great draw. Rebs rely heavily on the three, so how they shoot in an arena will be huge.

I think the Rebs can do it...Rebs are the team i am pulling for after Oak Ridge gets beat by 35+

Very good point on shooting and the arena factor. A lot of good shooting teams go to the state tourney and can't throw it in the ocean. It is probably a combination of nerves and the depth perception differences between shooting in high school gym vs college arena. However, some teams light it up from outside at MTSU...... hopefully, MHS will shoot well.

Siegel is a very fast team...Solid quick defense, good outside shooters, fast break all day, and deep bench. Being one dementional by shooting 3's will not beat Siegel.

 

Siegel has the edge in this one. They are just too fast.
