csemary
What is the reasoning behind this? Who came up with these regions? Regions with 15 teams in and regions with 8 teams? Really?
kilroyO
No thanks,... I'll just go ahead and put the blame where it clearly belongs.. Squarely on the TSSAA. why not just go ahead and move walker valley, cleveland, bradley, and soddy, to the chattanooga tourneys - lets call that the state tournament for the next 4 years and usn's on this side of the state won't support what has turned out to be a great venue at the state tourney. is this about $$. i don't see how. so, if a kid in region 3 ranks 3rd or 4th in state, he doesn't go to indy states. same for the team duals?? congratulations to the other regions - gotta feel good bout that. TSSAA ???? WAYThinkin?? Maybe these TSSAA guys need to be elected - or are they??

Sommers
Agreed, this is the biggest problem I see. Not that I would trade those odds to be in Region 4. good point in many cases, but will vary from year to year, ESP higher weights. It's sheer numbers with more to draw from waking up & down the halls... Ask Bray!
marshiebaby
riduculousness! Seeding needed!
cbg
No thanks,... I'll just go ahead and put the blame where it clearly belongs.. Squarely on the TSSAA. You may want to blame Gary Rankin! After he lost to Brentwood Academy while coaching at Riverdale he and his principal went on a campaign to remove all private schools from playing the public schools. This process started the "Watered Down" state championship series that we have today.
karelin
If you look at it another way with region 4 being so strong, all their place winners will be seperated until possible semi match-ups, so in a sense they are seeded; then just follow past seeding criteria. Could there be more region champions being knocked early by Reg 4 guys?-absolutely.
Farrara
TN having 3 state tournaments is silly. If that is the case, have the D1,2,3 tournaments then have an "All State Tournament" after. Top 4 each division. Mass, Fl, and a few others do. NY has the catholic and the PSAL (NYC) state tournament a week before the regular state tournament. The catholic/private school champs are allowed to wrestle in the public school tourny.
Newestguy
Word is TSSAA may be able to use McKenzie Arena for free. Is there any argument to keep it at the Cow Palace if this is the case?
rasslinlite
They might get UTC for free but not the parking. So that might be the stopper. I don't think think UTC will give anything for free.
