This tournament was surprisingly pretty decent to say the least. A few good kids in every weight class. You had Elijah Oliver at 126, and Bailey Wittman at 160 for The purple wave, For Franklin you had Dooley at 160 and Kyle Lee I believe at 120, I also saw Tyler Sells (Blackman-170), Chad Solomon (Maryville-182), Michael King (Beech-170?), Michael Murphy (Baylor), another Baylor kid whom I'm not aware of I think he got 5th at state, then you had the WHOLE NCW crew...The ones I'm aware they brought are Eli King (106), Jared Frazier (120), Christopher Wesnosfke (145), Ryan Simpson (160), Hunter Duff (170), John Hagey (182), and Houston Hooker (195). Literally the whole crew. All of these dudes looked good. It's great to see guys competing in the offseason. Anyone see any good matches?

The Sells/King match at 170 Folkstyle final was a very good match!! Both wrestlers made themselves better from that! Sells won 3-1 In a hard fought battle. NICE

NCW did take about 20 kids to the tournament but that is not the whole team. They looked ok but they probably had five or six kids that will start for FR next season that did not wrestle for various reasons. I had parents from different schools tell me that several kids had to leave after the folkstyle session due to schools having the prom on that date. The last two weeks of April and the whole month of May are busy times for high school student/athletes.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
