Surely not. Didn't he leave under suspicious circumstances at SHS. It wasn't all about wanting the Marshall Co. job. Whoever it is, why go to Memphis for a coach?

Why not go to Memphis for a coach? Why not go anywhere in the world to find the best coach available. The best coach that metro has had in a long time was from California.

"best coach metro has seen" is just an opinion; everyone has one; although, he did win a state championship & beat Maryville in the process which few teams have done. he obviously is a very good coach and has had success at every stop

Blade most definitely was the best coach metro has had in a while imo. How long is a while? I don't know. Fitzgerald would be in this conversation as well as Aydelott in regards to success on the field. Who would you guys argue that would be a better coach? Please name more than 1 metro coach (other than R. Thompson) that has beaten a Blade coached team. Although he has not had the championship run, i would be thrilled to have my son coached by Anderson and his staff at Overton.

Clayton has beaten Blade and is a metro coach now at Hillsboro, so that's 1 guy. I think aydelott and Fitzgerald go on that list as well as Terry Anderson..

In terms of great metro coaches I can only go back so far. In my time I would say Nick Coutras, Pigue, and Adeylott (not sure on spelling) had the most long term success. Best shorter term success you would have to say Blade and Fitzgerald. If you are talking best all around coaches then I would add Anderson, Coure, Armstrong, and Brown. All of these coaches got the job done in the right ways and truly cared for their players and made them into better people.

Highlife I agree Clayton is a good coach. This year should be a big year for the burros going against Overton and maybe Antioch. I think his days are numbered though. Probably goes into the short term success category if the burros win this year.

Blade is a good coach for as long as he stays somewhere. But he just doesn't stay long. Maybe he found a home this time.
