StarRaider,

I don't think Elijah is set on anything yet... he still has two years of high school left. I imagine his college stock will continue to climb now. Has to keep it in perspective, still lots of room to improve for him.

PummelKing,

The highest placer TN has ever had in JR's freestyle previously was a couple of 4th's (3 in the 70's and one by Kyle James in 03). That makes Elijah that first finalist and first champ.

YouthCoach16,

Based on records the most we have ever had in a year previously was 3 in 2000 (Jake Yost 8th Cadet Free & 7th Greco and Matt Keller 8th JR Free). We have had a couple of years with 2 ( 03 Nick Marable and Kyle James, 09 Blake Thomas and Cameron Croy, 10 Tate Robinson and Kaleb Baker).

This set of 5 far eclipses any performance we have ever had. The TN community needs to use this as something to build on going forward.

And to think we may have had a few more if we could have had a few other graduating seniors (ex. Kaleb Baker) attend like other states. Not to mention one possible placer sitting at home in Tate Robinson.

At any rate, the real question for most of us is how do we build from this? We can't let this be a one-time occurrence and slip back into obscurity.
