ya ur right, the more quality wins the better. with just the rockwood win people can say that tellico just got lucky or somthing like that but if they go undefeated in the district other than grace then there is no way people can say that they were lucky. i'm hopeful for the best and not ready to settle for anything less just yet.

I don't think it was lucky at all, you all were better than RW that night. Even if you lose to GB I will still think that.

But people will say that mess if GB does win. You all have a great chance to win this one. Im going with GB by 3 because they're the home team but won't be surprised at all if you all win

Seems crazy to have 15 and 17 year gaps in what should be an annual rivalry.

What game? Just wondering why everyone thinks GB is 3 or 4 touchdowns better...because I don't see that... GB is good..... But everyone said RW would beat us by 40 and that didn't happen.... No disrespect to anyone just honestly wondering...

I saw you play live at GCA and even though the score did not reflect, I know first hand Tellico is huge, run and throw the ball extremely well. They did not get to 6-2 by luck.

What a difference a few weeks makes. About 3 games into the season I was wearing a greenback shirt at some store when a Tellico fan starts telling me how much he was looking forward to the Greenback game later in the year. At the time, Greenback was rolling and Tellico was reeling. I listened politely as he told me how Tellico was improving at a rapid pace and while he wasn't yet predicting a Bear win, he was confident it would be a good game. I nodded all the while thinking the Bears wouldn't have a chance, likely GB would be tempted to have their starters undress at halftime and let the bench cruise home for the victory. Fast forward a month or so and it appears the friendly Bear fan knew something the rest of us didn't. This Bear team is good and getting better. Any thoughts us Greenback fans had of beat downs and mercy rules is a thing of the past. Greenback will be fortunate to get the W. I am going with GB by 8 largely for the home field, that and Greenback is really against the wall. Their promising season is in real danger of slipping away if they lose this one. I think they will rally but this game does worry me some.

Congratulations to the Bears on a really great turnaround. I said a few weeks ago the Tellico coach needs serious consideration for coach of the year.

Well said

I have to agree with you.  There a group of young men who have worked hard to get better to win.  Tellico up front is big and strong if you have watched any games most teams are loading the box!  not with 8 but 9 & 10.  I think Tellico has tasted what it is like to not only win but win the close game and will continue to get better.  GO Bears!!

This is the best coached team that I have ever seen at Tellico. Mullinax is very gifted. He is tough, demands respect, but he is still a "player's coach". The boys love him, and is willing to run through a brick wall for him. We are very, very, lucky to have him. No disrespect to the 2009 staff, but it would have been nice to have Mullinax during that season.

. These seniors are great leaders, and the team rallies around each other. They are not going to win a state championship, but a playoff appearance is going to be good. A playoff win would be special.

This is gonna be a tough game...I believe in the Bears we will have to see how they do on Friday...I am just excited if you remember at the begining of the year I said I hope we competed in the district. We are currently in 2nd place and have beat an unbeaten Midway team and a Rockwood team that only lost to Oneida. I am very excited for these boys. I understand that we have to win this one Friday night for some of you to completely buy in. I do feel we have gained some respect.....I DO NOT think we get beat in this game by 28 that is crazy talk but keep it up we will print some of it off and hand it to the boys....The Murphy's fair book had us 7th in the district in the preseaon...That poll I believe is a coaches poll...Wonder what they are thinking now????  GO BEARS!!!!!!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
