Bunch of MESS

If he's the one that replied to my post about so many crappy calls and we think he's the ref from SG game, then he needs reported and a push made to remove him!

Mike got this same type of junk when he was at Cloudland, its just followed him to Hampton. Combination of winning and calling the refs out over the years has made it personal to some of the crews we get. When you are a head coach for 25 years, its rare you get refs you've not had before.I could care les what they think about the coach, just understand you are hurting kids. We definately commit penalties, but so do all the teams. Sometimes it gets to the point of being sickening. SG comes to mind.

Refs for TPHS lay on the penelties, then get escorted off the field by police. Rockwood & Midway both racked up close to 200yds in penalties against TP on their field. Glad Greenback played them on home turf.

Don't sound like a place I'd want to visit. Thats alot  to overcome.

I had a TSSAA official that was in management at my work tell me they are instructed to keep the games close and try to stop it from being a mercy rule game. He called one of our home games and blew the whistle on an option play when the QB was tackled. The problem was he had already pitched it and the RB had ran 52 yards for a TD. There is some truth in everything yall are posting. I learned a lot of the rules of the high school game that I didn't know and really enjoyed talking football with him though.

Sometimes you just don't have quality refs and sometime you have biased refs, If they call bad ,  both ways,it irritating to everyone, if its biased, then only one team has the problem We are the top dog in the region and have been for quite some time, our coach was the top dog at his prior school for several years,  Thise teams had to play through the mess and now this team does.  I guess everyong pulls for the underdog to some degree, but these guys are supposed the be held to a higher standard.. Its hard enough to win on most nights, let alone a huge differential in penalties. The way Isee it is they are there to call the game as fairly as possible for both schools. Now if it were a blowout, give the other tesam a call or 2,what the heck, but in a game that could go either way, you've got to do you're very best to call it right. Hopefully someone in this area reads this and something gets done about it, we don't want any gifts, just want whats rightfully ours.

Hey Mr. Moderator, everytime a group gets on here bashing the officials y'all lock them down but now it's sp doing the bashing and you do nothing?

Maybe its because no names have been mentioned. Refs are a huge part of football and they're part of it is very important. Everyone want good refs.

I hope your not talking to me. I don't mind the officials bashing. A lot of them are horrible. I've seen some bad ones this year for sure. The game RLH was talking about was the loss SP had this year. They turned the ball over that night, but those penalties sure didn't help. I believe one offensive possession had 4 consecutive flags for holding.

I have seen some of the worse officiating ever this year and it burns me up, I was just wondering how far we can go with it, I got names!

When the names start,it'll probably get the hatchett.

This is the last i will say about it. The biggest problem I have had is on a long play alot of the officials are older and over weight and can't get down the field to make the correct call, I've seen officials out of position all year and one of those officials cost WC two tds at Hickman Co.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
