Oak Ridge 2014

I got it Bladerunner, it just looked like we were getting too far off the topic of OR 2014 with replies about OR teams two seasons ago. It seems Matt was a great asset to the Wildcats and probably wish he was still around to play in the future but look at the stable we have now with Za Za, Leaky, TJ and Jalell (I probably spelled that wrong...Sorry ). I watched TJ in the JV games this season and Oh My !!! That kid knows how to run the football. Should be an exciting running game for sure.

 

In my opinion the only real unknown right now is who's on the line with Chapman, Fielding ? There are several strong candidates that I think will fill the holes left by the great senior class and time will tell once they hit the weight room.

 

The defense I believe will be very strong next year as the young guys that played this year will only get stronger, faster and smarter and by the time Farragut rolls around in August they better watch out.

 

As for the QB, you put Fadnek in to run the offense and mix in Dunbar for a Wildcat formation and the Wildcats will be explosive in 2014.

Defense should definitely be a strong point next year. You could see the 3 young linebackers get better all season long. I love the way Manookian (sp?) plays. He plays so much bigger than he is. Should be exciting getting to watch all the young guys over the next couple of years.

Ridgefan61. How did Tee look in the hoops game Tuesday? Sorry, I know this isn't a hoops thread, but just curious?

I thought he looked good. He made alot of good cuts towards the basket and his teammates found him for some easy layups. Not sure how many he scored exactly. He played solid defense didn't really notice any glaring mistakes. Surprised me a little bit, not just because he is a freshman but also considering he was still playing football 4 days before the game. Bearden wasn't what most people think of when they think of Bearden. They had little to no size and were lacking in the athlete department. But I was really impressed with Tee and all of the other football players. Other than conditioning it was hard to tell they haven't been with the team for long.

I feel good about next year and I think it all hinges on the QB and the running back. I'm bothered by the fact that we don't have a real fast runner and I just don't know who the QB will be. Also, who will be the punter?

Looking at the roster I see Brandon Nickle a soph. he did some kicking this year. We should be alright there. Looks like Logan Fadnek at qb and goodness knows who at rb. Fadnek did a good job with the jv's this year. Good passer and can run if he has to. Kinda like Manning would rather hand off or throw the ball.

Logan isn't gonna wow you with his legs for sure, but neither did Casey Clausen, but he was one of the best I have ever seen at avoiding a sack. He was slow as molasses, though lol, but he had that knack for avoiding a hit. Sometimes the first step is the most important step and he had a good first step out of the pocket.
