I have been reading this thread and it has been a good one. I really know nothing about Mitchell, but I have seen TCA a couple times. With this rain moving in for the game we know it will negate the passing game for the most part. What will this do to TCA running game with no pass to set it up? I know usually it is the run to set up the pass, but with Akin back there slinging it around the way he does I believe it is reverse. I could be way off on this. I could ask the same for Mitchell here. Let's hear the breakdown. I'm interested.

I would have to say that both teams are still very similar. Only question I have is can Mitchell produce a power runner tomorrow night?

As a reminder, if you can't make it to TCA for the game versus Mitchell, you can listen to the game exclusively on WDVW 105.3 "The Dove".  Dave McCulley and Stan Gerard have the call of this game.  The Countdown To Kickoff Pregame Show begins at 6:30pm central time.  Kickoff is slated for 7pm.  For those outside the broadcast listening area, you can listen to the game at http://www.gracebroadcasting.com .  We hope you enjoy the broadcast.

Just checked out Mitchell's stats on Max preps. They have rushed for 1750 yards and passed for 1650 yards. Very interesting. Obviously they can run the ball. TCA has rushed for 2100 yards and passed for 2900 yards. I think Mitchell makes up a lot of ground on special teams. They get a lot of yards on KO returns and punt returns. After studying those stats I'm really perplexed at what we may see Friday night. They appear to be very balanced as well. Mitchell has over 50 sacks which is alarming. TCA has around 15 I think. TCA has around 20 INT's on defense and Mitchell has 11. Pretty darn evenly matched game if you ask me. Mitchell's passing stats would have probably been higher but they blew 5 or 6 teams out and probably shut the pass game off. Rain, rain go away the Lions and Tigers want to play!!

Will you have score updates throughout game for other area games? Such as Dyersburg v Trezavent and Adamsville v Eagleville

Ok. Great posts thus far. Galilee is correct, it should be a great game with both teams evenly matched in a lot of areas. I watched Mitchell on hudl film last night(not YouTube) just to clarify my following remarks. I had forgotten that I had watched them earlier in the year on YouTube. Here is my assessment of Mitchell: they are fast, fast, fast and fast!! QB is fast, WR's are fast, backs are fast and heck their punter is even fast and I'm not kidding. Very similar to Jackson Central Merry in speed and athleticism. QB has a cannon arm, kicker is outstanding( which is not the norm for Memphis 2A), Defensive line is stout and aggressive. I didn't really study their OL but I'm sure it's really good or they wouldn't be where they are. TCA will have to stop the special teams big plays and make two stops per half. I don't believe Mitchell's defense will hold TCA under 30 points but I don't know if TCA can hold Mitchell under 30. I predicted TCA over Peabody 60-50 and everyone laughed at me for picking such high scores. This is a repeat of a high scoring affair. TCA 52-45. It will be a track meet and game may not end until 10:30 with all the passing!! I think TCA's ground game will be the difference. Mitchell can pass as good as any team we have seen and Peabody was pretty dad gum good at it!!

Good luck TCA we pulling for u! Kept the ball on the ground and control the clock and TCA will come out on top! But that is a must because Mitchell can strike fast!

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
