daisy2,  what I am hearing is it is because other jobs are hard to find with a 4-6 record and 0 Championship appearances in his tenure at R'dale.  While winning a bunch of games, his stock has gone DOWN overall.

TDCman, we may get one desperate eighth grader wanting to start on varsity in his ninth grade year.  With our lack in depth it could happen for him!

Dont kid yourself, LOD. Despite what you feel about Aydellot, he would still be a highly sought after coach. Riverdale got better by leaps and bounds as the season ended.

I have to agree. And from what I hear they did it with five freshmen on defense. That is more freshmen on defense than most teams have dress out. Meaning they were able to get some good experience with a couple of wins to end the season. My money is on that they don't go 4-6 next year

They had some freshman getting a little time, but not 5 playing a lot. the freshman team lost to Smyrna and Oakland. The QB did start about half the season, but he was the only freshman starting.

I had heard it was 5. Got that information from Limbaugh. Maybe i didn't hear him correctly. But nevertheless they have a bunch of underclassmen returning with a good deal of playing time that resulted in a measurable surge of improvement. You could actually see that they had gotten better. And they competed and won in the district.

They did get better, but until coach A decides to make some changes they will never make it to the big dance. It will be the same old same old as always and they will eventually get down to a 25 man roster. You cant win consistently playing 5 freshman. That is NOT a positive thing. That is why they have a freshman team. They are not ready for big boy ball yet.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
