Forfeit Rumor

I was listening to a call in show out of Lexington, TN and the host made mention of a story coming out tommorow about one of the top ranked teams in the state (from the West Tn area I assume) possibly having to forfeit all their games from this year due to using ineligible players therefore being out of the playoffs. Has anybody heard anything about this or know which team it is?

I also heard this same radio show. He did say that the school "was not in this immediate area". I guess meaning the area around Lexington. Also he did not say which class this school was in.

Coalfield isn't a top ranked team so it's not them.

Who was Sunbright's opponent supposed to be a few years when they had to forfeit on about the Wednesday before the Friday night contest leaving Sunbright little time to prepare for Lookout Valley?? I can't remember to save my life..I want to say S Pitt, but that doesn't sound right. So someone out there who knows let me know!

The Pirates from South Pitt would be the boys. I am curious why a talk show in Lexington, Tennessee would be talking about the "possibility" of a team having to forfeit games because of using ineligible players? How would they know?

Maybe they have "inside information". Being a part of the media, I guess that would be their job to find out about such things. Maybe they're just starting a rumor, but I doubt it. Anyway, they were reporting this yesterday, so surely they wouldn't do this if they didn't know a little something about it.

The radio station may have been interested in this game due to the fact Monterey's Head Coach is from Parsons (Riverside). If the rumor is about South Pitt. as stated in a previous thread this would be of interest in their listening area.

South Pittsburg does not have any illegal players sorry to disappoint you but the Pirates are legit. By the way after the prank that was pulled on S.P. in 2000 the coaches will be definitely sure if a player is cleared to play or not.

It is from Lexington. Their opponent from 5-3a said it was marshall county but not player-related. the coaches from the 5-3a schools are best buddies. Seems Marshall Co. cannot police boosters and friends of the program.
