I second the statement about Bell. Sissom is a great player and in a way, deserves the award too. But Bell was the best single player in the tournament that I saw.

I do not know how this award is determined, but, if one has seen Rachel Bell play, there should be no doubt that she was the most talented player. I'm just not sure who is the second best. Congrats to all the winners!

Absolutely agree! Congrats to the Sissom girl but this is not a career award. Rachel Bell is head and shoulders the best player in AA. Once again TSSAA proves how idiotic they really are.

AGREED Bell is not only the best AA player she's the best PLAYER in the tournament PERIOD. She has earned it. What a joy to watch.

# 4 Swafford is a good player that deserved to be a finalist, but she is no Jaycee Coe.

She's definitely a great free throw shooter. This award is basically decided through a publicity campaign. People who want it prepare publicity materials, including but not limited to stats, film, and previous awards. This provides a sampling for voters. It can be an expensive endeavor for students to gather materials and make up that many packets. You also have to know who to send them to. It's impractical to believe that voters could physically see every possible player. There's also the possibility of seeing them on an off night or when they don't play for a substantial amount of time.
