A/AA State Tournament

Hume-Fogg has 8 seniors and graduation is tuesday at 7, but 7 of them said they would skip it for state, and the other (who is a starter) said he would have to think about it. the game being the earliest means he might come hopefully. No excuses though.

There is no seeding for the state tournament. The only rule for the draw is that if two teams from the same region qualify they will be put on opposite sides of the bracket.

 

"The eight winners of the sectional games shall advance to the central tournament site. The Board of Control shall make the draw for play at the central tournament site. The draw will be made such that if two teams from the same region qualify for the state, they will be drawn to opposite brackets." Section III, D

It is disappointing that TSSAA moved the start times for the championship games on Friday to earlier times (1:30 and 4:00).  I think the last few years the A/AA championship game was at 4:00.  The Division II games are at 4:30 and 7:00 on Thursday.

Fields 2,3,4 have limited bleacher seating, approximately enough for around 50 people. I am not sure about field 10. So I would encourage bringing a chair to the fields. The championship/stadium field has plenty of seating for fans.

There are still some volunteer spots open for the Soccer Games beginning tomorrow. If you volunteer you gain free admission to the state tournament. There are a few adult positions still available and ball boys/girls still needed. You get to pick where you want to work from what is still available.

Chattanooga Teams, (Chatt. Christian, Boyd B. and Signal) what can you tell me about Murf. Central Magnet.  All three of you played them and they seem to be under the radar and playing well.

They play a pretty game except for the flops.  Extremely talented midfield builds the offensive attacks with great passing.  We countered by passing long to our forwards and keeping their mids out of the game as much as possible.  Keep a man on #11, great foot skills, unfortunately, he flops like a European pro.  #3 has great skill up front as well.  Good luck to all.

well Hume-Fogg will be missing 2 seniors due to graduation and another is leaving a halftime, I think they will be alright in terms of quality and what not though. the other seniors are going to try and make it after the game.
