Kisler please explain what is going wrong with our defense, we seem to have good spurts here and there but we easily get gashed several times a game, 23 by Lebanon, 21 by station camp, 49 by Blackman, it's starting to raise concerns.

MJGB; I don't understand some of the things we are doing on  defense as well as offense ; but then again; I am not a coach.

Tandem and Eers; I was shocked when I heard Beech score. What happened ? Injuries and turnovers ?

Nope. Didn't cover anyone all night. Still not sure we blocked anyone either. Beech had no offensive touchdowns all night.

Laid an egg all the way around.

I would say that the score is much different than the game would reflect. The starters' defense actually only gave up 13 points. There was an interception returned for a touchdown and 13 points given up by the backups put in in the 4th quarter. The Commandos DID give up a few really big plays off of screens that looked like they weren't at all prepared for. Besides that the touchdown and field goals were all set up by bad special teams coverage, with the touchdown coming after a Brentwood punt return to inside the 15. I think Specialty was much bigger in the game than the actual defense was in the game, as almost every time the kicker didn't kick it out in the endzone the Bruins would take it out to the 40.

That doesn't sound like Beech football. It will be interesting to see if others try to follow the blue print that Indy used.

    • I think that pretty much sums it up, really. To be perfectly honest, I'm far less sour about Eagleville getting to host themselves in the state tournament every year than I am the fact that we find ourselves in a position that we have to play STATE TOURNAMENT games at a blamed Single A facility.
    • It's time to put away with the award. 18 players selected, and 17 of those players are from Middle and East Tennessee. I guess they don't play baseball in West Tennessee. I understand there will be players that were "snubbed." We can make a legit argument that it occurs in Mr. Football and as well as Mr./Mrs. Basketball. But baseball is not a place where we can sit here and say "these are the 3 best players in this class and that class."  And we got to get rid of these polls bullcrap that's being released. It's all nonsense.
    • Thanks. I'm just trying to understand how this process works.   It seems like a bit of a sweetheart deal to me but the cookie has to crumble somewhere I guess.
    • He won’t got anywhere he has it made in h20 he prob makes almost what a head coach in t c makes plus there’s not as much pressure there everyone is a use to the losing there. I say he will be there for many years just waiting for Webster to leave…
    • Do you happen to know how he stacked against the other nominees? Just curious what the other stats were.
