SweetScience
So when are you talking about, troll? I don't remember Maryville playing 'down a class', just playing in the class that their enrollment qualified them for - AA when there were 3 classifications, 4A when their was 5 classifications, and most recently as one of the smallest 6A schools in the 6 classification system, which by the way, they have played in the state championship game of every year that 6A has existed. The only single A school that I can remember them playing was Alcoa in the 3 classification days. Has OR ever played Alcoa? I would bet they would beat you as a 3A team now. They would also beat every other 6A and 5A school in the state, with maybe 2 exceptions haha And Maryville and Alcoa are going to play regardless. Too much of a traditional game not to. EarlVolFan
That would be the hits your players seemed to be coached to execute when the play is over, or "playing through the whistle" as you like to call it. Classy, especially for a scrimmage game. That kind of play ended the football career of Desmond Horne in 2010, who would have likely earned a scholarship at a small football school. He courageously came back at the end of that season and was never the same player again... Maryville wins this one. But if it were up to the Maryville fans - Maryville Players would be wearing non contact jerseys.. The fans sure don't like to see them get hit hard.. (based on the last scrimmage)

bladerunner
Let me clear it up for the vol fan, Maryville Knowingly played down a class for years.. When based on the amount of students that they had-They should have been playing up a class.. This is not disputed

Unfortunate that he got hurt, but it was a football play plain and simple. Unfortunately sometimes those plays happen. Also the injury to your guys' #4 the other night was also just a football play. Those things happen. You have lost me with the late hits dirty play comment. I saw none of that in any games OR played against The Rebels, whatsoever. They were all tough, hard hitting affairs with both teams having the utmost respect for one another. Don't go there man.

EarlVolFan
Not disputed? LOL! Name the years...making the same vague claim over and over doesn't make it true.
