When it happens the rural schools will be raided of talent. Schools like TCA will then be able to offer scholarships to kids in the small towns. The stud athletes will be recruited from those schools. I know it's already happening in Nashville and Memphis but overall it's not happening in West Tn because there is only one D2 school in West Tn outside of Memphis. That would be USJ. Ask Gibson County how they felt about Losing Garner to USJ. He had a great opportunity and took it. More of that will happen. Public athletics will be watered down as a result especially in the 1a and 2a classifications. Be careful what you ask for.

It's not just the rural schools that might take a hit.  I believe there could be heavy consequences for the public schools in towns like Jackson.  Kick the privates out of D1 and the public talent pool will decrease.   I wonder if some of these publics who are so hot and heavy to get rid of the privates fully understand the consequences of what they wish for?

Old Pirate sees the loss of athletes as potentially a threatening demise in the rural schools. Locally, SP,Jasper and WHITWELL have lost players to the Privates, if they split, there will a HEEP of public folkes pestered by the Circle Flies...OP ain't joking neither Edited by OLD PIRATE
