You gotta know that was simply an oversight on my part MLREB!  I know of no better friend on these boards!  You remember how mad you use to make me back in the day?  Took me awhile to get you figured out.  And btw, I still believe my Govs are better than Greenback, that they WILL still beat the Mountaineers this year, and that you can safely park your car at Mike White Field without fear of getting your tires slashed or your windows broken.  Of course, I am a homer though.

Good one Govman....those were the days. You have a memory like my ex-wife.

Btw....I think Heritage takes you this year, but like I said in another thread, I seldom pick a WB game correctly.

With that kind of attitude Jake, we might want to ask you to serve on the selection committee!!! :)

Nah, that honor needs to stay with you guys that went to school there....Congrats on your induction, BTW.  But, I have been hitting some of the old graduates up to share some of their wealth with good ole WB....

He is loaded, and I have about got him talked into sharing some that wealth.....I got news for you, that football nomination is not hurting for money either and if he is going to keep coming to the games and eating all of my popcorn, he needs to give us a dollar or two.

Congrats Govman. Well deserved honor for someone that does so much for the community and its yutts. (Sorry....but I watched My Cousin Vinnie last night)

Have to admit Govman, it stung me a little in a previous thread you omitted me as a Maryville fan that was good friends with the Govman...

Me too MLREB! <_<

you guys are killing me.  Should have never started listing names ... just trying to prove that there are "some" people in Maryville who still like me!  You know how much I love your Rebelsman.  Hope you and your family are well.

Sorry MLRebs and Rebelsman, but I must share with everyone how honored I am for making the distinguished list of friends of the HOFer known as Govman. Govman is very modest and does not want to showcase his accomplishments on here. However, without the angling skills of the Govman, WB would not hold the Citico Creek Trout Championship title from 1980.

Seriously, it is very fitting for you to be recognized for this honor. You are a great ambassador for WB. You have always supported all the youth in BC (including Maryville and Alcoa). Thank you for your commitment to our community and the impact you have made in so many lives.

    • Actually that young kid was in an offense that loved to throw the ball I believe.    Biggest problem for MC is if the coaching staff can figure out which mouths to feed at the appropriate time.
    • Have you ever been in education (administration) or a head coach? You’re responsible for all aspects of your program. If you were not checking the kids information correctly and left it up to someone else and they mess up. You’re held liable because it’s a failure on supervision, implementation of TSSAA eligibility and your school’s eligibility. Remember the wording in the article for him “CONTRACT NOT RENEWED” coaches are on a year to year contract and don’t sign the contract again until July. Do I believe he still should’ve been let go? Yes because you’re responsible for the total program and should be aware of everything going on. Do I believe he knew about the grade changes? No and that’s because nobody brought his name up until things got really bad and there is no indication with any paperwork showing he did. It’s just word of mouth from a teacher trying to cover herself.
    • TSSAA won't ever issue a death penalty, worst case scenario would be a post-season penalty that makes Clinton ineligible for the playoffs for a year or two (I believe 3 years is the most I have ever seen).  But TSSAA only does that in extremely rare circumstances.
    • I just want to echo that sentiment. Coach Woodmore is a good man and he is going to do things the right way and expect these kids to do things the right way. He will help grow them into fine young men. The wins will follow. I think Bolivar hit a home run.
