Where Has Riverdale's Once Proud Program Gone?

Perhaps the SID could shed some light on the number of college players under the two coaches.  I maintain that Rankin left the team fully loaded when he left. Excellent talent, especially on the lines.

 

Rankin seldom had a lot of D1 stars around. There were a few.  He did have a very well prepared and coached football team.

94 team had a freshman backup QB that was pretty good.

 

The 93 team that lost to Kelly Holcomb and Lincoln Co had the hardest hitter in Riverdale history, Kenny McGowan. McGowan went on to play at UT.

 

97 team was undefeated and #23 in USA Today until a Halloween night at Gallatin.  They recovered from that night to win 5 straight in the post-season.

That was a fun Halloween night!! I had a replay of the Murfreesboro TV station's game. Those announcers were so biased but they learned.
