Polk County at McMinn Central

We all know Central is a heavy favorite in this game, but it would not surprise me if this game stays close for at least a half. Polk was leading a very good East Ridge team at the half.

Polk has played strong quarters here and there, they just haven't strung four of them together.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Polk is Polk, the Chargers will not take them lightly.

Nothing is as dangerous as a wounded animal... Polk is still Polk, well coached and like Charlie Murphy said, they have had good spurts but not a full game yet. True, they are not as athletic as the past few years, but don't overlook them...ever! Central has done a great job so far at being focused each week and I don't see that changing this week especially. All that said.... Central by 17.

MCentral seems to have everything coming together.  The O-line is doing a wonderful job, the defense is coming up hitting, backs are running hard behind great support blocking.  Athletes all over the field.  I see Polk playing harder than any week, being Central and all.  I am also pleased to see how focused and humble the Chargers are at where they are right now.  Central has started slow every game, but boy are they finishing.  They look stronger toward the end of the game then the beginning.

The rough thing is that McMinn Central's Playoff road goes through Alcoa.

First home game in a month, and it's Polk County. The place will be packed and very loud. Central does seem to start out slow, so I won't be concerned if it's a close game at the half. The Chargers experience and talent will take over the second half and the rout will be on.

I've said it all along and will repeat... Central will go as far as coaching will take them.

Derrick Davis will have his kids ready that is for sure. Chargers at home after 3 weeks on the road. Lots of weapons on offense. Central is better that East Ridge and Chattanooga Central on offense.

Always a physical match-up for both teams. Will be a good game to watch.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
