Now 91 I showed up on game night and told you I was wrong... However there was a post you made that I wanted to question ... You said that with Fair back healthy and running the ball you might put 15 up per quarter against the Rebels? That would be 10 more than you put up against Heritage. Do you still feel this way?

I was being tongue in cheek when I said that.

Hey 91, Fair has made a big difference but so has the QB play. Going thru the progressions makes it a lot harder on the d. Add in a good running back and the o starts to click. Hope the coach doesn't mess up that chemistry. If Daniels is ready then put him in at safety. He is a great athlete and plays really good in that position and helps the d. WB by 13

'85, I couldn't agree more. THE KID is not only a good qb, but he is also a leader. He is 2-0 and it's not like you were 5-0 without him. Plus, he will only be there so long and I'm not sure there is anybody close talentwise coming up behind him. Better use him while he is there.

I can't tell you how many times over the years I have sat at the top of that stadium and watched various wb coaches play srs when either the game was over or the playoff hopes were over. Maybe they wanted to score in the final minute to cut the lead to 2-3 touchdowns - I don't know. IMO - The experience a kid gets with the varsity as a soph or freshman is priceless. When they play early, they realize the work they must put in during the offseason. That all may seem hard on the upperclassmen, but the decision has to be made between being nice to the upperclassmen vs building a program. One of two things: a jr who has not played alot and is still trying to prove he belongs, or a jr who knows he belongs and is willing to lead his team to their goals.

Bottom line to me is this: wb should win this game regardless of the qb. But for various reasons they have put themselves in a position where the first 3 games of next year are probably more important than the game this friday. I hope they plan accordingly.

As I said earlier you won't see me complaining about the young guy playing at QB because it will only help us in the future. But you gotta give credit where credit is due. Fair is the biggest reason we have won the last two games. Before he got back on offense we had a very limited running game. But he has rushed for over 200 yards in both games he has been in. More importantly he has 6 tds. If you take away those 4 tds he scored against heritage we get blown out in that game and if you take away those tds he scored against Jeff Co we lose that game too.

What do you mean when you say the first 3 games of next season are more important than this game?

I thought top 2 teams from each classification in each district got in.

FROM TSSAA.ORG:

Teams shall qualify for the play-offs by finishing 1st or 2nd

in their district/region or by placing high enough in the

state wide standings for their classification based on a set criterion.

This is the last year of this mess. Then we get a new mess.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
