wayne county would drive right by 3 former region teams less than an hour away to go to Clarksville academy over 2 hours away  for a region game ? how much sense does that make

They are afraid to put Huntland in region 3!  They are the closest 1a team to SP besides Whitwell and L.V.  SP and Huntland have never played in 90 years.  That would allow MTSC to be moved over to Region 4 to lighten up Region 5.

I completely agree that these Regions need to be scrapped and thrown away. Drive times are brutal.

For MP to drive to Huntland or Moore County is 2 hr drive on the 1st and almost 2 hr on the 2nd.

Went to Huntland one year and after the game stopped and eat after cause we didn't have time to before and it was on into after midnight almost 1am before getting back home..... So it's not only the how long it takes to get there but how long it takes getting back home.

To Wayne Co.(50 mins) or Collinwood (40-45 mins) I got an extra hour to stop and eat before the game or even if I wait and eat after the game I still get home by 11pm. They are closer and more in Our area (Region)!

TSSAA throw away these Regions and start over or you will have A LOT of unhappy, peeved off people at you!

You WILL lose money at the gates because I for one will not make the drives. And I'm Sure I'm not alone.

Region 4 should be,

Columbia Academy

Collinwood

Cornersville

Loretto

Mount Pleasant

Perry County

Richland

Summertown

Wayne County

*Most within 1 hr. to drive times of each other (REGIONAL)! [WC, PC, & CW to C-ville maybe a bit longer times but not by much - MAYBE need to place C-ville in a more easterly Region]

Make it happen please.

Definitely trash what was proposed.

wc would have Collinwood and pc after that every region game is at least an hour and half drive with a couple being 2hrs plus.  when mtp,ca,summertown, are just an hour drive at the most doesn't make any sense

What they are doing Completely makes no sense at all....

Costing people/schools time and money in fuel cost that in the long drives and in the long run will cost themselves by people staying at home.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
