Good lesson for kids. Run the crap out of the ldtown kid and importance of strapping a helmet on tight for all of them. Van dyke used to have helmet collecting issues a few years back. ðŸ˜

Coach Rang will handle him I'm sure. Like proud fan said he is a good kid from a good family. Someone once said you play with a "controlled sense of rage". I'd rather have a kid who has to calm down the aggression then trying to pull aggression out of him. Not saying what happened is right just saying the coaching staff will handle him, hopefully he will learn where the line is crossed and play just below it.

Pretty sure I watched 10 or 12 100 yard sprints after a Bethel scrimmage a few years back (my little angel had nothing to do with it). Not sure I've seen that much puking since Swafford spent a weekend at Talladega infield. VanDyke was/is a beast with uncontrolled sense of rage. lol

I am by no means defending the Dresden kid's actions & I hope that Rang uses this situation as a teachable moment for the rest of the team but the TCA boy's actions should be addressed as well. I wouldn't exactly call it a sucker punch when the TCA boy took the first swing but just missed. The Dresden kid went to Rang after the game & asked if he could apologize to TCA's coach & the player. Both boys met up on the field, said a few words & patted each other on the back. He comes from a good family & knew he was in the wrong & wanted to try to make it right. He should be punished & Coach Rang needs to make sure the boys know that behavior will not be tolerated but he wasn't the only one in the situation.

You must be blind! I just watched it on Hudl and #64 took the first swing and our 63 swung back and then they went at it and when his helmet came off he suckered him. Don't go blaming it on us. If our kid was in the wrong he definitely should be punished. He was defending himself. By the way, that was a freshmen he punched. I'm sure our coach will watch the film over and over and if 63 was in the wrong he will pay for it. You need to watch it again and see where the first punch came from.

#64 is a freshman also. He mad a mistake and owned up to it like a man. He apologized to both the coach and player. It was a mistake, he will be punished and he will learn.

I'm not blaming anyone. I'm saying both players need to be punished for throwing punches on a football field. Not like grade even matters but #64 is a freshman as well. He owned up to his mistake by going & apologizing & will take his punishment from the coach & I'm sure his parents.

Thanks. It's all good. I think he is going to be ok. I plan to call his dad later today and check on him. Apologies accepted. It happens sometimes. Other then the 4 bomb TD's it was a very good, competitive scrimmage. I know it's hard for some fans to imagine but we were very pleased with our D. We would have two Gold Balls the last two years if we could have stopped the run. We actually did a great job against the run yesterday. Much better than the last two years. We won't see but one or two teams all year in 2A that throws the FB as much as Dresden. I also feel good that we will get the secondary fixed. I really expect Dresden to do real well and I'm not saying that because they whipped us. I'm making that statement based on a good looking team and you didn't have your stud QB. You will have solid backups at QB that's for sure and #17 will be a great target for Winn. Good luck in the Fall.
