East TN next year will be repped in the playoffs by Science Hill, DB, Maryville, West, Tennessee, Greeneville, South, Fulton, Catholic, Elizabethton, Alcoa, CAK. That's my guess that the 6A-3A champs will come from those teams, 5A is my biggest question mark but 6A and 3-4A I'd feel safe putting money on these teams. I don't know much about 2A-1A but I figure Hampton and Cloudland will play into it somehow.

Not this year for the Rebels.  Their pendulum is swinging the other direction a couple years, IMO.

It will definitely be a different look for the Rebels but I think you are way off in saying "not this year" (that they won't be represented in the playoffs). I am confident that they will finish somewhere from in the #2 to #4 in the new conference and make the playoffs. I thought the Freshman QB that they brought up to varsity late in the year got some good game experience and will be another good one for the Rebels. There are several good linemen coming up and I thought the young RB's and LB's that saw a fair amount of playing time in the 2nd half of most games showed much promise for the future.

I think South will be ok this year also, the o and d line will return several starters, Haren and Ward return at linebackers and most everyone else returning saw significant playing time during the 2nd half of several games this season.  I think if the offense is changed to play to our strengths we will have success.  It does hurt losing all those seniors though.

On that note, congratulations to Linebacker Jacob Strickler for signing with the Naval Academy yesterday and QB Dylan Wieger for signing with ETSU.  Big things are in store for the future of these 2 young men.

I wish you and your Rebels well in 2015...its going to be a challenging season.  I hope you do have a great year and get into the playoffs.  You're a classy bunch and I've always been treated well when I've attended on Friday nights.  I just think its going to be a tough season.  I've heard good things about some of the returners and also some of the underclassmen.  I'd be careful not to put too much on a rising sophomore qb however.  He's going to be another great South qb, but he's young.

You guys certaing have developed some great qbs and wrs through the years though (and a couple fantastic backs), so I won't count you out.  I just think the Rebel pendulum will start swinging back towards the great team mark in a few.

"A few" years might be all we have left depending upon how the school consolidation effort goes!

from what I heard a South might be the only county school safe, north is most defining closing and going to be added to south's population. Central and east might be building new schools.

This is all the county options as of right now.

I think south might be down from last year but last year was a top 5 in south's history so it will be hard to compare to that but they are still a playoff team and in a few years the upcoming freshmen will start making some noise.

    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
