Congratulations Maryville.

Someone sincerely help me out. Maryville completed the same short pass 4-8 yards all night. Why do you think Oakland did not adjust? Did they want more run defense or feared the deep pass? I don't think the latter.

Oakland linebackers played inside out, meaning think run first then react to the pass. Hard to cover a back or slot man straight up when you are trying to stop the run. They adjusted in the second half somewhat, but it was more Murvul's play calling trying to establish the run. They did with the QB in the 2nd qtr. By quarter Murvul rushing 10-71-10-43 (134 NET yds). or 115 yds less than their season average. Oakland 28-26-42-(-5) (89 NET yds) or almost 140 yds less than their season average.

Their whole intention was to put our kicker out of the game. A third try would have sent some of their's to the bench for good. When your trying to hurt the kicker your as dirty and low as they come.

You are right Barney. Talked to the (Nashville) officiating crew after the game. They did tell the Oakland staff there would be an ejection if it happened again. Kudos to the Nashville officiating crew for an excellent game as well.

That is not an excuse for taking small cheep shots after plays and throwing players after the whistle blows. 77 for OHS was being a cheerleader and it was very ironic that he gave up the sake for a safety at the end. Humility is a virtue.

Go REBELS!!!

#77 also said in the area newspaper s few days before the game, that the Oakland O line would handle the Maryville D line handily.

Proud of how our guys responded in a hostile environment the entire game. Ridiculous rule causing a one seed to travel 3 hours to a 2 seed. I can see rotating every other year if/when both are one seeds but the higher seed should have home field IMO. Oh well, they got it like they wanted it, just didn't work out for them in the end.

Go Rebels!

Nobody was trying to put anyone out of the game! Oakland has been and always will be agressive on special teams! As everyone saw when they played on tv in all the games if u were able to watch them. Why try to make this great football game something it's not? Just say good game see ya next season.

rebels I watched it on TV close up and listened to the announcers talk about it also and even bring it up the third time he kicked. Oakland plays with the thought of intimidation which some teams do. Just glad our team wasn't intimidated and they have moved on to the next game. Our kicker is not only a weapon as a kicker but he is also a great punter as well and had he got hurt it could have had an effect on the game. You take a second string punter and throw them into a game like that cold turkey and it would be enough to cause the coach a heart attack. Glad you talked to the officiating crew and got some clarity on the situation because it seemed real funny it didn't happen anymore.
